You take the HDD, and mount four rubber 'wheels' on there. Seriously it can not be more simple .. but it is very effective. To insert the drive you need to raise a locking mechanism on the left rear of the cube. The lock can be fixed in place using the thumbscrew.
You simply roll the HDD into the rail, and remember you may mount three of these in this configuration.
Here we removed the side panel, and again as simple as it really is, it works out really well. Probably the best HDD sound dampening system we have ever worked with. By the way do not be under the impression that the HDDs are loose in there, contrary they are secured tight pretty well as there is friction in-between the slides and the rubber wheels. Power and connectors wise you use the long sleeved (included) cabling.
The optical storage Cube then. Don't mind the ruler there, I left it there so I could focus the camera as all black .. is kind hard to photograph. There's a The 5.25 to 3.5 adapter bay located at the bottom.
