Final Words & Conclusion

The Verdict

When a manufacturer designs a chassis anno 2010 it's often good, when Cooler Master does it... it's often better. Now don't get me wrong here, compared to the HAF X, the 912 series is a sizable step down alright, lacking USB 3.0, latches to hide stuff, removable drive trays etc etc. But are these a deal breaker? Nope, not at all. For roughly 80 EUR the HAF 912 Plus is one of the best designed mid tower chassis out there. It's a nice symbiosis slash design, the best of both worlds really.

We do feel though that pricing will need to come down a tiny bit more in order for the product to become really attractive for the end-user. We guestimate that 65 to 70 EUR would a viable price level. Regardless of our opinion on that, we like the 912, and the Plus version even better. It is simply a lot of chassis for the money. The looks then... well that's always subjective as heck of course. You either like or dislike the design, I mean that's always very personal. I must admit that when you look at a photo of the chassis, you could end up a little puzzled and unsure about its aesthetics. However once you start to unpack the 912, you'll change your mind real fast, it really is a nice looking chassis and the photos as such do not do it 100% justice.

Regular or Plus? Well, for the 5 to 10 EUR increase in price we say just go for the the Plus version, it wins hands down. The all black interior is the decisive factor here, plus you get a nice red glow at the front of the chassis thanks to the LED lit FAN.

Alright, it's time time to wrap things up -- overall the HAF 912 series is loaded with little extras and that makes it a feature rich product. guru3d-recommended_150px.jpgThe looks are great and the amount of space you get to work with is downright very decent for a mid-tower chassis. The fans are not at all too noisy yet offer a nice steady airflow inside the chassis cooling down your high-end gear, and that's the most important aspect here... the 912 is designed for high-end components. The high-end components all fit easily and are kept cool. All that combined with its features and good looks make this a very recommendable product to opt for or at the very least think about.

As such, we like to recommend the rugged looking HAF 912 very much, but trust me when I say you need to go for the Plus version alright.
