At OCZ the most hip thing was a prototype of the OCZ Z. Dubbed the OCZ Z Drive, a combined SSD product slapped onto a RAID controller (RAID0), this product comes with an MLC RAID technology for that 1TB SSD solution. It sports 256MB of DDR II memory with ECC protection, as well as a PCI-Express x8 interface, freeing it up from SATA2 bandwidth limitations.

While the specifications on this thing are impressive to say the least, you will really be amazed when you take a look at some benchmark results. And I have been able to run some of them... ready??

The OCZ 'Z Drive' is in fact a one-terabyte MLC-based SSD with 256MB of local cache and hardware-based RAID controller. Definitely for the high-end crowd, the Z Drive won't come cheap at roughly 1500 USD. This thing jumps to read speeds of 600MB/s, as well as a maximum write speed of up to 500MB/s. Pretty sick to observe really.

The demonstration rig had HD Tach on there as well. Unfortunately a non registered version, so we could not try out a write test. But check that constant read performance for a second :)

OCZ will also release a new flagship 1000W PSU within the month, the new 80+ Gold Certified "Z Series" boasting over 90% efficiency. With its single +12V rail, the Z Series is sure to please the high-end enthusiast crowd along with energy-conscious PC users.
