At the top, there is a mesh, with one 140 mm exhaust fan (Pure Wings 2 1000 rpm).

There is enough space to route cables, including the EPS one, which can be tricky in some other chassis, where it’s required to pre-route it before securing the motherboard.

Under the rear fan, there are 7 PCI card slots (secured with thumbscrews), and 2 vertical ones.

There is a mesh for the PSU to suck in fresh air.

There is also a gaping hole for cooling solution backplates (slightly covered by the SSD mount, which is easily removable, but there will be more about it later).

The PSU can be up to 288 mm in length, and it’s really easy to fit even really long units. Unfortunately, the solid-panel version of the Silent Base 601 does not come with plastic covers for the HDD cage mounting points (the windowed one has them). It’s quite a big omission for me, as including one wouldn’t cost too much, but it would improve the looks (even if there is no window in the side panel).
