ASUS GeForce RTX 4070 DUAL edition
Okay cooling and performance at MSRP

In this review, we evaluate the ASUS RTX 4070 DUAL version of the GeForce RTX 4070 graphics card, categorized as an MSRP product and retails for $599. Boasting efficient cooling and nice acoustic levels, this model delivers performance on par with the Founder's Edition. But when the price points are so similar, does it offer a superior overall experience?

NVIDIA has unveiled the GeForce RTX 4070 graphics card, set to launch on April 13th. At a retail price of $599, the RTX 4070 is a more affordable option for gamers seeking high-end performance than its predecessor, the RTX 4070 Ti, which was initially priced at $899.The GeForce RTX 4070 boasts impressive features such as ray tracing, DLSS, and AI-powered assists, making it an attractive choice for gamers who demand optimal performance. With 5888 CUDA/Shader cores and 12GB of 21Gbps GDDR6X memory across a 192-bit wide memory interface, the RTX 4070 delivers a maximum bandwidth of 504GB/s. It also includes 46 RT cores, 184 Tensor cores, 184 TMUs, and possibly 64 ROPs, using the same AD104 silicon as the RTX 4070 Ti, with 46 out of 60 streaming multiprocessors being enabled. The RTX 4070 provides a more affordable upgrade solution for gamers who want a high-end graphics card without competing with the cheapest RTX 4070 Ti.

Introducing the DUAL GeForce RTX 4070 Graphics Card - The Baseline Performer

ASUS expands its diverse portfolio of graphics cards by presenting an affordable baseline performance option - the DUAL GeForce RTX 4070. This compact, aesthetically pleasing graphics card measures approximately 27cm and efficiently manages temperature levels with a pair of cooling fans, maintaining an impressive 65°C mark. Its noise output of 36-37 dBa ensures a serene gaming experience. The DUAL GeForce RTX 4070 is designed as an MSRP product, featuring reference clock frequencies and performance within a 1% margin compared to the Founder's Edition card. Consequently, this graphics card possesses an effective memory speed of 21 Gbps, and the ADA104 GPU is equipped with 5888 shader cores, powering the RTX 4070 to deliver extraordinary rasterized visuals at 29 FP32 Shader-TFLOPS. In addition, the card integrates 184 fourth-generation Tensor Cores for AI processing and DLSS, as well as 46 third-generation Ada RT Cores to facilitate advanced ray-tracing technology. As a member of Nvidia's RTX 40 Series, the GeForce RTX 4070 also boasts Ada features such as Shader Execution Reordering (SER), next-gen RT core engines, and DLSS 3.

Providing commendable performance in the 2560x1440 resolution range, the ASUS DUAL GeForce RTX 4070 could be a proper choice for users seeking a refined design without compromising on quality. While it may not be the fastest card available, ASUS does allow for some tweaking, including an 8% increase on the power limiter, which boosts the clock speed to 2.9 GHz when adjusted. Combined with the GDDR6 memory clocked ar 23 Gbps, you're in for some tweaking performance as well.
