Performance - Ethernet (LAN 1 - 10 Gigbit)
LAN Performance 1 to 10 Gbps
Next to WIFI performance, the new trend is faster Ethernet. In the coming years, we'll slowly transition from 1 Gigabit towards 10 Gigabit connections, with 2.5 and 5 Gbps available as well. We have invested in a 10 Gigabit infrastructure to test with. We start with the 1 Gigabit connector.
1 Gigabit per second (Intel jack)
10 Gigabit per second (Aquantia embedded LAN)
While we did not reach a full 10 Gbps overall we still averaged out a flat and incredibly steady 8 Gigabit, we had QoS disabled, however, did use a Cat5e cable, and not Cat6e. To translate that performance, we move a 1000 MB/sec of sustained data here.
