Not sure they'll sell that phone for something around 100$ outside of China. Depending on the price this might be a good deal for dual sim users.

If I were gonna go back to Android, I'd import an Xiaomi phone.

5.0' Screens should NOT be 720p. Ever. Other than that it seems decent.

LOL, cought that. 🙂 Xiaomi isn't that great bro.... Huawei is much better. Specifically the Mate 8. Better than even my Note 5.

I'm going to import one, first phone I've seen that meets all my requirements, only thing I'd like is a 1080P screen but I'll manage as it ticks all the other boxes.

Only thing stopping me buying a Xiaomi smartphone is their history of having backdoors siphoning data to their servers.

That's as easy as installing CM12 or 13 and chucking the stock ROM. 20 mins and you'd have what you want. It's all just software, easily manipulable.

true. but it is the ideea of having a backdoor by default is what gets me.sorry xiaomi, will not buy your products , even it is easy flashing another ROM.

Was thinking about this phone too, but it's $200+ here in the states(which isn't really bad with it's options). The only thing that is a turn off is that it doesn't have expandable memory. That seems just odd that it doesn't have a memory card slot.... Other than that looks to be a pretty decent phone.

Plenty to buy online for $150 and it has a microSD slot, did you look at a different phone?

That would be fine if they released they're Kernel sources in a timely manner. They have a longer history of withholding kernel sources than they do of stealing users data

Undustry.

I'm using a Xiaomi Note 2 as second phone, and it's very good for the money. I use it for Uber app that uses GPS all the time. It's very fast in picking up my location, and has good accuracy. The only downside is that it uses a custom ROM that can't be rooted on the fly with known methods for rooting a note 2. I think I need to use a PC to root it, haven't try it.

Why not? Half those 1080p+ screens aren't anywhere near the clarity of real 1080p because it's all marketing lies. Their clarity is comparable to 720p at best. AMOLED screens don't have a red/green/blue stripe array, they're a mess that cuts out 1/2 the blues and 1/2 the reds and use two tiny greens for a screwed up 1:2:1 subpixel ratio and overall 1/3rd less subpixels... with a reminder that the greens are tiny. That's the same amount of subpixels as 720p. A non-AMOLED 720p screen 5" in size is perfectly fine. I'm making it a point that whatever I upgrade to be a non-AMOLED screen. I don't need my my phone's processors rendering 2560x1440 pixels for something less clear than real 1080p... if I have the option.

I'm getting a redmi note 3 (and I may sell it when it arrives at chinese price and go for the pro), but I wish i could have it 720p I never play any fullHD content on the phone, plus all it does its using battery.

Xiaomi is killing it in the market's they're currently in. Plus 720p(personally) is more than enough. On a 5'' screen, I'm not going to need or notice a difference of 720p versus 1080p versus qhd. I don't need to play Minecraft or Goat Simulator at 1080p. Plus those high resolution screens are battery and performance killers.
