They failed so hard with the THICC II that they just need to drop the name, and don't even try with the THICC III.

If I remember correctly, it had the lowest temperature @auto fan speed, which has the 0db thing going for it. It may be louder than some, but should be fine for many - much better than reference. This model should be better in that regard. Could be quite a sweet card. Some of you seem to be overly negative.

GN pits all their cards against each other in a standardized style using a 40dBA fan noise level for every card. And the THICC II came out the worst compared to every other custom card. The GPU was nearly as hot as the reference 5700 XT, which is really not good. The only reason it did OK with regards to thermals, was because when it's allowed to do its own thing in "auto fan mode" it speeds up its fans to 2,100RPM which is really loud and is worse than other custom cards.

The only reason it "did well" when allowed to do its own thing in "auto mode" is that it sped up its fan speed so fast and so loud that it basically isn't really much of an upgrade in terms of fan noise compared to better made coolers from other partners.

Same. The design seems to hamper temperatures/airflow, but this 3 fan model could work very well. If Sapphire didn't have the Trixx resolution thing going, I may have gone with one of the current 2 fan models - I like the 0db feature.

I’ve owned 4 one had bad vram the other was unstable when ramping yo the first step on 3D clocks (like when watching a video on YouTube with hardware acceleration on). The other two were reference cards with XFX stickers on the box.

This is just sad. They look to sell these to ricers. Make it thick, more fans and it will become just faster. Same mentality of 12 year olds where a spoiler on a car makes its faster. What would be impressive is an itx version, not this abomination.

My own empirical experiences with XFX products has been good; a RX 480 and a R9 280 XT, (which, I believe served as the inspiration for this card), have both been faultless since purchase. I feel, visually, that particular 280 XT may well be the classiest video card ever manufactured. So, I gather the "II" has been deemed flawed, and the "III" represents yet another bite of that same apple. But, I apparently missed the "I" version. Incidentally, in that first videocardz photo, the III kind of resembles the Battlestar Galactica.
