It wouldn't surprise me if a revised Xbox is a lot more powerful than a revised PS4, they got it wrong on many levels and played it safe hardware wise last time. Still not happy about a console revision, but who knows how it will turn out. Not been sold on either console this gen, Sony has the better exclusives so far but you could borrow a PS4 for a week to play them all.
Yeah i think MS will make sure they have the more powerful hardware next time, which i am unsure is a good or bad thing for us gamers in the long run, seeing as they have had to fight to win consumers this time round by adding feature after feature to get people to buy a xb1, hell if it were not for them being hammered by Sony and the PS4 we would not be sitting with BC 360 games, 1 account Gold sharing on xb1 and BC 360 games, GWG, BC GWG, and now pc/xbox crossbuy. These days i have to remind myself this is gaming hardware we are talking about and not which UK political party are getting voted out because they got complacent with the public, when did both become so similar. lol

If only MS would let us use the xbox as a PC with such hardware. Now, that's potentially the only thing that would make me finally buy one. I mean, come on, they might as well let us tbh.

Most likely it will be a lower internal resolution that is upscaled to 4k. Microsoft is more relying on post processing effects like HDR to make up for this. The only thing I am worried about, is both Sony and Microsoft are going to have titles that require the higher powered variants of their consoles. They say there won't be, but I don't believe that. Nintendo titles do this already, and have depending on console. Few games required the extra memory pack on the n64, and their portable consoles like the DS, and 3DS are notorious for this.
Yup, upscaled from 1080p. The numbers don't make sense otherwise.
Xbox One S fully supports native 1080p output at 60fps. For gamers with a 4K device, content is upscaled into 4K. With four times the resolution of standard HD, 4K Ultra HD delivers the clearest, most realistic video possible. Xbox One S offers High Dynamic Range support for video and gaming, so you can experience richer, more luminous colors in games like Gears of War 4 and Scalebound. With a higher contrast ratio between lights and darks, HDR technology brings out the true visual depth of your games.
