Spreading the cost over a few people is actually not a bad idea, so basically MS are making it legal to game share with GP, so i assume this will mean you can share GP acorss 5 different xbox consoles and 5 different accounts, they all don't need to be on the same machine, and all 5 accounts can play the same games at the same time.

And then there's Netflix, testing how to take money from your card more efficiently if you give your 3 empty spots to friends. If they manage figure it out, I'm sure Microsoft will catch on.

I don't think it would happen with Game pass because MS already knows what's going to happen going in. Plus they already have a back door to sharing one account using the "home console" function. I have 3 Xbox systems in my house and my wife's is shared off of my account and then I have to have a second sub for my sons Xbox. So the question becomes..... is the price cheaper than 2x gamepass subs or not.

hey guys - GP isn't just for XBox right now it's the best deal in pc gaming and the PC version has ports marked as ports. "Xbox" is being used generically to name the service. i've had it for months and it really helps in deciding what games are worth the freight

yeah I use it on both PC and Xbox and I have to say that I've saved 100s of dollars especially thanks to the first party titles like Forza Halo and MS Flight sim. I don't have to rebuy them for the 2 other consoles and PCs I have.

I'm the sort of gamer who likes to mod his games. Last time I tried the $1 per month club, XBox Game Pass for PC--I got it free for six months IIRC by buying some product--I was greatly disappointed! That is sort of an understatement. Problem was that the games came festooned with an enormous and thick shroud of copy protection such as I have never seen! Not only could you not install any mods to their games because of the copy protection, if you started a game and saved a few games and then decided to move the game install to somewhere else--guess what? None of your previous saves would work--and you'd have to start over. Even the saved games were tied to the copy protection. So, basically, you could try the game, but if you liked it well enough to keep and then go Nexus, for instance, and install a couple of mods that you like--no can do. Copy protection didn't allow it. I found once that even just putting a file in the root directory of the game was enough to keep the game from running! So, I then incorrectly figured that all of that would change when I purchased the game instead of renting it--I mean, that was only logical, right? So I bought the game--The Outer Worlds, I think. So I bought--and...no dice...the game came exactly as it came when I rented it!...;) I asked Microsoft and was told there was nothing they could do, but Microsoft graciously refunded the full amount of the game, which I then gleefully removed (the one thing you could do with it was delete it...;)) Then I went to the Epic Game Store and purchased the game for $10 less than I had paid Microsoft, and...zero copy protection--I could mod and move it, run it from its own exe, and anything else I wanted to do and expected to be able to do with my personal copy of the game. I have no idea if things have changed since then, but I found the restrictions to be ridiculous. Does anyone here know if that's changed any? I don't see how they sell anything for the PC the way it was when I tried it.

they are not helping anyone with all the damn tiers, why is pc a separate service, it should just be "game pass" and run on everything with whatever catalog can be thrown at it in the device you log in

^^^They call that Gamepass ultimate, you can play it on your xbox or PC, or stream it to the supported mobile device of your choice. 😉
