Aw, I thought they gonna use human like hands for solving puzzle. Impressive nontheless.

Unmodified cube or its "not the same game"... (no record for cheating) Still impressive though.

This, but the normal cube would probably explode into a dozen pieces (or to be precise, 27) with this robot 😀

But you cannot really scramble the cube because six cubes never move, the middle cubes with the holes in them to fit the motors, so you can't say have 6 blues as the middle on all six sides when you hand scramble it. But still that is quite a feat.

I was hoping to see human-like robot hands as well. Advancements in human-like anything is extremely important. This type of machine is worthless.

On a Rubiks Cube the 6 middle squares are fixed in position relative to each other. When that side is turned, they are simply turning on the spot. So with this setup you can still scramble the cube as much as usual. The difference is that because they don't need to rotate the sides from the outer edge, time is saved by not needing to reposition a 'grabber' type mechanism.

^^^Well you learn something new everyday. 😉 I can get two side easy, with a war room computer, a stream of statistical scientist predicting the next turn, and some luck. lol
