Kinda sad for gaming community, especially, PC wanna be master race. Pro gamers like me, with more than 12.000 hours of gaming at least at one platform only, we know the best witcher was the first one, not two or three. It was unique! If only people were pure immersive gamers and not sociable talkers.

Show really effects its popularity. The game was relseased there was not so many players. Still, they deserve it, game was masterpiece.

It's a shame that people will skip 1 and 2 and go straight for 3. Personally I loved them all equally (+5 playthroughs in each), but I agree that 1 was special due to its combat system. Either way, reading the books first before playing the trilogy is the best possible scenario, as you will get every throwback/hint and story will make much more sense.

Ok tv series, great game (my opinion). On the subject of version popularity, well the gaming world is much bigger now, many new players. I have played the last one, for the older titles, well, i will take the books. Maybe at one point, who knows, i will finish the first one (my first contact with it was ..not good). "Kinda sad for gaming community, especially, PC wanna be master race." - I don't necessary consider this to be sad. I mean, there are many new players now, Witcher 3 is a very good game for those new players to enter this world (and type of game). i guess each period of time has its "have to be played", there will be others, for sure. - i do believe that there are quite a lot of "must play" games now (older and newer), we can't play them all 🙂 - new ideas, new unique games will appear, it is not the end (yet, at least) Let's not be sad 🙂, let's be happy that this series received a well deserved "life renew". And, heck, i am sure that some players will look at your feedback and ...try the first/ second iteration. This rejuvenation will positively impact the series.

at least PC gamer's don't have to worry about backwards compatibility with our machine... I love playing old games in high definition...kinda like watching your favorite movie over again only this time is better because it's ultra-clear

I watched all season 1 last night and thought about starting back up the Witcher 3 only and finish the last DLC which I have not done. The TV show was very enjoyable for me.

First Witcher game hooked me on the lore and mythology. Although not visually stunning, the first Witcher was pretty good when it's was released, I still remember the times when I just stayed in open water, listening to calm eerie music just to enjoy the scenery and see how smooth my old computer rendered the game.

If you have surround, especially sound blaster with EAX support, it was the best game of the series sound wise. Effects, especially in swamp area, I was scared when something was about to attack. 😀

Funny you mentioned that, because you are spot on! At that time I had a Creative Sound Blaster X-Fi Platinum Fatal1ty coupled with Creative Inspire T7900 7.1 surround system, and the game was an amazing experience sound wise. It was such a shame how EAX had slowly been phased out from games soon after.

This was a true pc master race exclusivity in my opinion. Abandoned superiority. The same goes for diablo II. It was like a wonder, that sound atmosphere. Diablo iii was a sound failure. Pc gamers, who never had a surround back in the days, they still think they know about gaming audio. I feel sorry for them. They know nothing. Gaming in pc is not RTX and Ultra visuals only, they lost ultra audio settings silently for what?

Sound blaster live! Player on 2000 such a great card at the time part of the reason nostalgia hit me and brought a sound blaster z few years back.

What was the reason for that?

No money income for Creative labs perhaps;. Game devs and publishers never wished to pay rights for software and extra hardware needs, instead everyone was happy about DD and DTS. Idiots. You see OpenAL, the software based free alternative was the nail coffin, but inferior to hardware based 3d audio of EAX solution, there was a period even motherboard on-board audio cards or competitors had EAX support with Alchemy Universal like creative's own Alchemy exclusive. Greed and laziness. Digital connections and consoles' rising, were the excuse for creators to ignore this specialized weapon.
