One could guess W11 won't add any substantial performance increases to gaming and the OS could probably be riddled with bugs so I don't think we're missing out on anything in the beginning.
One could guess W11 won't add any substantial performance increases to gaming anyway plus the OS won't be officially "supported" by games in the beginning anyway (probably doesn't matter anyway) so I don't think we're missing out on anything.
Im sure games like Stalker 2 where ms will push w11 and probably make it only supported os. That would surely push gamers to update.
100 percent because they want to see if its adopted like they hope. If word spreads that you shouldn't upgrade (or that you should downgrade), they might change their itinerary.
Couple of things I noticed..."over several months" means the auto-rollout like the ones for Win10 builds presently are handled. Anyone who wants to can go directly to Win11 when it is released using a Media Creation Tool, just like they can go to the next Win10 build release immediately without waiting for the new build to roll out to them through Windows Update. Microsoft always rolls out Win10 builds via two methods, Media Creation Tool & the Windows Update, and WU rollouts typically occur in stages over several months. Looks like that will apply to Win11, as well.
Also, I've been notified by Microsoft that I (and anyone else who wants it who is an Insider beta tester) will be receiving my first W11 build for testing this week. Joining the Insider's group (which anyone can do) is yet a third option for running Win11 builds RSN.
I don't think that people quite understand that Win11 = Win10 in every respect, right down to the desktop icons (already in Win10 beta builds such as the one I'm running, v2004, b21390.2025.) The only difference is that a couple of the baseline requirements have been raised in W11, like TPM 2.0--that's why Microsoft went to "W11" in the first place. The only alternative they had was releasing some Win10 builds without the higher baseline requirements and some which mandate them. That would have been an unholy mess, for sure...! "W11" makes total sense in that regard, actually.
The thing W11 isn't, however, is a radical departure from Win10, which will continue to advance until its EOL at least 3.5 years from now. When have we ever seen Microsoft fail to extend original EOL dates on anything?
I'm on a normal build at the moment (21H1 Pro), I've not checked out any new builds for quite a while so I'm looking forward to this! 😀
Edit: Downloading, I couldn't wait.
works fine, but the task bar is massive, 21h2 is the version.
you’ll probably need to use the registry key to make the taskbar small
Windows 11 has be solid no crashes, since release of first ISO. Now I just got update to new version of Windows 11 tonight and works good also. This newest version is a little different but I do like it. PC Gaming is not effected and has the same FPS as Windows 10.
Also it is activated with Microsoft account to Windows 11 for free which is always good. Get this no complaints ,I must be weird not complaing about the evil Microsoft
Taskbar size =3 different sizes Dword 0/1/2 I use 1 for 30 different icons
