qft. What happens if windows installs an update that bricks user's PCs / installation? How will it "uninstall" itself if it kills windows itself, the network connections etc. And it's not like we haven't seen this happening in the past 12 months. I bet the biggest issue of many PC users in the past 36 months was indeed m$, malware's a tiny problem compared to a essentially bugged OS

Really the only thing I want is the f8 boot menu to be enabled by default, or at least that if you switch to the legacy boot menu , that it doesn't revert it every time there is a major update. The only thing more annoying than a startup error, is boot cycling until windows decides its time to try repairs, just to access safe mode, or use a restore point.

While you are generally right, I use LTSB / LTSC, so what plagues most people, quaterly feature updates, does not bug me at all since I don't get those. It's still a PITA that you have to take care of so many things before 10 starts to behave like 7 did... and I haven't even fully managed to do that 😀

I am perfectly fine with this feature. I never install update before I read the reports here in Guru3d. Btw, I can offer related feature for Windows - MS posts reports from Guru3d along with the update info.

You can configure your network connection (both wired and wireless) as a metered one which will stop forced updates.

That code will not work because only one rollback will be called in case it will fail.

Does anyone even get a BSOD like the one pictured anymore? I haven't seen one of those since I forgot to change IDE back to AHCI during a BIOS update in 2009. Someone must really mess up their system to make one of those appear now.

Uninstall the update, then windows update finds the same update again and installs , that over and over and over again lol
