Thank goodness I actually found a workaround for Windows updates... Why is it called a Personal Computer if MS wants to tell you what you can and can not install on it?

Yes, they poke around and see if it sticks. Even if it does not stick, they have statistics on how many people let it be. How many people complained. How many people downgraded/reinstalled.
And based on that, they'll try something else to achieve same goal.

Let's not forget Google does exactly the same thing when you log in to any of their websites from a non Chrome browser and they don't even respect the No thank you option.

On other hand Chrome is an open door to everything you don't want... (and banned from company because of that security point)
Firefox is slow as hell... too much thing on it (ok it is better on new version but still slower than concurent)
Despite being IE explorer's son Edge is faster and more secure (at least M$ doesn't lie on that) but what an awfull GUI !!!
Reading this article i am happy to be on Linux for main usage 🙂

There must be something wrong about your installation if Firefox feels so slow for you. Perhaps you have/had some addon installed that was buggy beyond reason? I use mainly Firefox and occasionally Edge. I haven't noticed Firefox being slow compared to Edge. Chrome I don't have installed at all. Google knows enough about me as it is, no need to reveal to them every single site I visit and what I do over there.

I see some rather glaringly obvious contradictions here. You say firefox is faster (which it isn't. It used to be but not anymore), then say you're sticking with Windows 7. Windows 10 is faster by quite a margin, especially for gaming. It's also more stable.
As for "themes" not sure what you're talking about. I have no "themes" in windows 10. Regardless, Win 10 is the best OS right now, and MS's best OS to date.

So should Google remove the pop up you get when you go to www.google.ca if you are not using Chrome? Google's web site 100% checks if you are not using Chrome and does the same thing and no one cares(that I know). The thing is it is their web site so they can do what ever they want and that is why the same should be for MS or any other company when you use their product, it's only fair right?
Btw I use Chrome as my primary browser and I love it but I also use Edge some times as well. I know people really hate MS but double standards are really not cool. Personally I don't see the issue what so ever.

Mere use of 'whatever' implies that you are not thinking clearly. They can not do whatever they want. Because they have to act within boundaries of law.
When you do business, it is clearly to benefit of those who you provide services to. It is like: "You rented our hotel. Why are you surprised that we did stick finger up yours in middle of night?"
When you sh*7 over your clients, they will go elsewhere. Never imply that just because client purchased Windows 10 in time it behaved in certain acceptable way, it can change into state it behaves in absolutely unacceptable way.

I do it for Google using element hider blocker, it lets you chose parts of a website to block xD

One day in the near future we won't have an option to block Chrome. Mega corporations will rule our lives and decide what we can consume, watch, read and so forth depending on which Mega city we live in. We'll become mindless slaves to a select few corporation owners who will have total control over the world. Then our world will collapse due to climate change and humanity will eradicate itself due to human's greatest flaw - greed! Those select few who indirectly decided our fate won't care since they managed to get possession over trillions of dollars...but that wasn't enough, they wanted more but there wasn't anything else to take from.

I use SRWare IRON for some good years already.
It's a chromium build without all the spystuff from Google, doesn't call home for anything, doesn't ask you to login into some account and asks questions for installing ANYTHING in it.
Also, it's as fast as usual Chrome (Actually, it might be faster, since it doesn't have the google bullshit activated)
It doesn't even bug you with updating it all the time, instead you need to install new versions manually like the good old days.
