App app app app. Kindly feck off with this and stop ruining the language, Microsoft and everyone else.

Not crazy about any of this. Cortana has the potential to be really annoying, I don't want a black taskbar, I don't have an Xbox, and I practically never frequent the Store. I also don't think the Control Panel needs any changes.

I have a feeling that the idea Microsoft has right now with PC gaming is becoming the next Games for Windows Live blunder.

Nothing is about a single user. The control panel has needed to be changed for a while now. The "category view" is crap. All it really does is confuse most, non-technical, users. It needs to be simplified, in the proper manor. All related options should be found in 1 location....not in several as it has been. Contana has the potential to be a lot of things. At this point, it depends entirely on implementation. If it can be disabled....no hard, no foul. If you're forced to use it, then it'll be an annoyance. MS needs to start allowing "customization" of the task bar, to an extent, without requiring 3rd party apps. Of course, some will hate Win10 just as they did Win8.x, just because it's different from Win7.....

Can you sort the items in the Start menu (under "All Apps") yet, move them into sub-folders, remove items and such to clean it up instead of getting a messy list of all applications?

I sincerely hope there is an option to not-install/disable/completely remove all this app/windows store/xbox app/pretend your pc is a phone app and any other app crap they decide to shove down out throats oh and also that cloud crap. Unfortunately I could see no way to remove it on the build I tried. Do not like, do not want. The rest of it is fine.

Right click the app you do not want, select unpin or uninstall. Right click the button you do not want on the taskbar, select unpin. Really simple and easy, that is all. Otherwise, have fun with Windows 7 in 2024 with hardware that will not support it.

I couldn't remove the store in the build I tried, just as I couldn't remove that cloud rubbish. True, you're not forced to use it (yet) but if I were to use it as my only OS I would want the option to remove it entirely. Not that fussed as I use Linux 90% of the time, the the only time I'm in windows is to play a game. I don't like the direction Windows is going, I use it for the odd game and that's it and that will go for Win10 too from the looks of things. I'm sure I'll be using Windows 7 in 2024 with hardware that can't support it. -_- (that line was sarcasm)

Right click to unpin the store icon and that is all. One Drive is listed in the programs and features section and can be removed. If you do not want to use the cloud features then sign in with a local account only. I use Linux in a virtual machine maybe 2% of the time. Have no need to use it as my host OS at all. Linux nowadays has limits in what it can do. Windows is giving additional options that you can use or ignore. That is my opinion on the matter. Also, Linux is no harder for me to use or maintain than Windows or OSX since they all do the same thing.

I'd want to remove it completely (uninstall), not just remove a link (unpin). Interesting about the OneDrive, it's a while since I tested Windows 10 but I'm pretty sure I didn't have the option to remove it, either way it still prompted me to save to some cloud derivative with files and this was with a local account. Anyway, when a good DX12 game comes out that requires it I'll be happy to give it another look, until then it's unneeded. That is my opinion on the matter.

OneDrive can NOT be uninstalled. It's an "integrated feature" of Windows starting with 8.1.....

Really? Then why is it listed in the programs and features sections as a removable program. (App. 😀 )

It's not on my Win8.1 or Win10 installs. If you installed it prior to the Windows8.1 upgrade it would be, but a clean install of Win8.1 doesn't list it.
