That's exactly why WD saw the opportunity here. You can bet on it. Lots of people will need to buy a new drive just for the sake of installing that one game (or if they want to buy any other games when COD ate all the free space on their existing SSD), so if they receive a bonus for the game with the purchase of a particular SSD, they might go for it.

I see a major Activision shareholder also had sizable investments in storage media companies.

considering both consoles storage have been badly miscalculated for the "digital era" and will definitely receive a lot of backlash WD is making a smart move here
