Port Royale score is basically the same as my reference 6900XT, just overclocked with MPT. That's where this card would shine I guess, with bigger power limit and OC as stock cooler is limiting it, but those scores are stock I suppose.

Water cooled and a binned gpu should have huge oc capability wait for a proper review off HH

''Just 5% faster'' Well it's the same GPU, and yet it's still better than 3070 Ti vs 3070 performance difference lol

"just 5%" Wait till it meets the user's and real overclockers. Still bigger difference from the same gpu than between nvidias gpu lol

Well it's still better price performance ratio than nvidia top line. See 3080ti vs 3090 classic fail. At least Amd doesn't lie, they give you the same gpu. Nvidia on the other hand despite giving Mawr Corez and ram differences are negligible.

Honestly, I wasn't expecting any performance difference. I thought it was just going to be the same thing but with a more expensive and more complicated cooler.

The extra headroom is already counted in the +5%. I wouldnt expect much better % overclock than air cooled after that. Modern cards are already pushed near their limits. If water cooling a card yourself, you would get that 5% benefit too.

Meanwhile, in other news:- - Nvidia's just released 3080Ti was found to have a performance virtually identical to the 3080 but at a pricing of almost double the 3080. Nvidia adds "Moving binned components that failed the 3090 onto the 3080Ti will maximise profit, though at the expense of 3080 availability". - Nvidia's tried to downplay subsequent negative press by encouraging some reviewers to compare only against the more expensive 3090, hoping their informed readers/viewers wouldn't notice. - Nvidia have increased anti-competitive and social media disruption funding significantly in the hope of mitigating critisism.

Here comes /AyMD heavy cavalry to the rescue :D

Well just under volt 5% overclock memory 10% and drop fan speed 25% run at stock speed then. and be silent.

I literally want to see this! 😀

I have been watercooling my cards since the GTX 285, and I've only ever done it due to air cooling limitations (I used to run 3-way SLI setups) and noise abatement. Sure, some extra performance is nice, but that was never my goal. Now, a factory-watercooled card is a different beast, and it should only come with the highest binned chips with maximum OC headroom. That said, I tend to agree that most chips (both GPUs and CPUs) are already close to their maximum performance limit, especially when it concerns AMD.

To the rescue of what, exactly?

Enough with cards that are 20,30,50% more expensive for being 2,3,5% faster, can I get the inverse now? A card that is 50% cheaper while being 5% slower?

nVidia pulled an Intel move with the recent launch, this 6900XT is useless, prices are insane... great time to introduce new people to the PCMR.

Can i flash the bios of the XTX to my reference XT i wonder? That 10% more power seems it could help a bit with my clocks.

Hmm so now there's three 6900XT's...AMD is making it a tad confusing. From the AMD Reddit I was just browsing to see if this had been mentioned.
XTXH + 18 gbps... I wish this was called a 6950 XT and released outside of OEMs. Instead of AMD putting now 3 different products with the name 6900 XT. We have XTX 16gbps chips, XTXH 16gbps chips, XTXH 18gbps chips.
6900XT and it's variants with the Navi21 XTX chip. 6900XT (and variants.) now on the higher binned and higher clocked Navi21XTXH chip. Then now there's this with an additional memory clock speed bump so 18 instead of 16 effective. Though if the effective performance increase is still within a ~5% range it's not quite up there with the 10 - 15% that somehow happened with the 6700, 6800, 6800XT and 6900 (Would have expected a wider range but somehow there's a pretty small jump though it adds up I suppose.) Still not quite there to be a 6950 or 6900XTX I guess. EDIT: Did they manage to clock up the memory chips or are these using higher spec version GDDR6 directly. (Samsung 18 GB/s chips.) If AMD has that I could see this leading to even more GPU's from vendors like Sapphire and the others wanting those too in addition to the XTXH Navi21 GPU cores. Going to run out of names here for the Nitros, Toxic and what not, MSI Gaming Z is already at the end there too. 😛

It isnt worth overclocking. you wont notice any difference but yo will notice the increase in the electric bill. just drop power5% save 50% power usage then overclock memory. keep it cool silent. its fast enough so nno need to overclock.

GPUS under $1000 dont exist anymore, Ill use that money to go to Hawaii and sip mai tais on the beach they can keep their expensive GPUs.

Talk about being biased. 'Just 5%' for the same model (on base of leak from TimeSpy which is not good indicator of performance in games by any means) and at the same time very positive review for 3080Ti, supposedly worth whole 500 dollars more than 3080 with whopping 5% more performance than 3080. Yeah, right.
