Wait, why is this price surprising? NVLink as far as I remember has uses in professional applications; everything is expensive in that market. Did I misunderstand something?

@xlcarus +1 yeah, complain about the price on a professional part you will never use in your own pc... and IF you actually do, its not in a gaming rig, and your getting paid for the work/job, so ... most of the time sli only makes sense (to me) to use on the fastest single-chip card (as there is no other option to improve performance), so if you already have the cash for two Tis, the cpu/psu/cooling etc to support running them in sli, dont complain about few hundreds for a bridge (if this will be used for consumer stuff anyway).

Eh, people used it in the past as a more cost effective way of getting performance. I mean look, if SLI scaled well and was supported just as well we'd see a looot of SLI 1070s instead of single 1080Tis.
