Sounds good. Wireless would obviously be the best, but I don't trust wireless enough even for my mouse, so a single, dedicated cable solution would be the next best thing for the time being. Quite a limited consortium, perhaps, but at least it has all the most important players. Intel's absence is a bit strange, considering the blue giant is even dreaming of video cards of its own, but who knows what they are thinking if anything. Apple's absence is most welcome. Apple would just make it twice as expensive as it really needs to be for no reason whatsoever.

Sweet, this way they won't charge extra like they would for wireless.

Bet that's still gonna be better than what we already have tho, good job to all the folks who worked to make VR less complicated to deploy!

So glad I sold both my DK2 and CV1 a while ago and waited!

I'm happy to see that there has been some progress made in the world of madness, but +700 hours with my HTC ViVE and I've grown tired of everything VR related.
I've played racing, first person shooters and watched VR "content" and it seemed like a good idea back then, but it fell flat and is just a hassle.
Lack of AAA games (a lot of "crash grabs") low performance with driver and compatibility issues.
It's just another useless gimmick, much like 3D, curved & fake HDR monitors and it won't take long before it's all forgotten.
Give me an affordable 27" 1440p 144hz monitor and I'm game for the next 5-10 years.

If new generation of VR would be wireless only, big problem for VR..
