I guess they milked it good(the one/s or IF any all) and when they were done with it, someone blew the whistle on it for some reason.

Them: We got what we wanted, so let's close this this thing down now....! Steam: Whoops.....let's plug that hole.......!!

This is how I imagine it went: Gabe receives an email on the vulnerability and walks out into the valve offices. "Guys, just found out there's a problem with steam and since we're not due to release another teaser for the Source2 engine for another couple of months any of you guys wanna patch....." Gabe gets steamrolled by every employee rushing to their desks eager for a chance to actually do some work for once.

So come on let's hear it.... just how many accounts were actually compromised because of this flaw in the last 10 years?

so many folks have put their finger in the pot over the long years since steams introduction that, given the number of security holes, i gather their code documentation is very lacking. one only needs to prod their API for a few minutes to get the gist of wat im implying...the past two years or so theyve begun to put a bit of effort here & there, but a bit of concentrated poking around one closed security issue leads you to an adjacent one.

I don't know how secure steam is to begin with. My account has been hacked twice, luckily they didn't do any harm except that they tried to get the password from steam pretending to be me.

And why not, everyone else seems to be doing it. lol

Considering account security, pretty darn good altough thats pretty much a given with authenticators. Same with blizzard altough blizzard sacrifices a lot of ease of acces for security.
