Seems no manufacturer is immune to build cockups, not Evga, MSI, Gigabyte, nor Asus.

There is many brand but there is few factory, so the same factory do many brand (if not all)...
So if it happen for one it happen for many...
As an exemple i have worked long ago in a factory on a defective chain in a sportwear factory to fix it...
The worker gave me a Jordan bag wrongly badged Reebok as a "souvenir". All other were destroyed
In production crisis it happen...

Maybe these incidents get more attention than they used to. Or maybe manufacturers are so much in a hurry to ship GPUs to miners that they do not really care as much as they used to.

I've always bought Asus hardware, but I'll never again. Their quality control is not existent and costumer support is a shadow of what once was.
If you want to avoid problems, avoid Asus as a brand.

Wait. So literally judging from the comments (and not pointing any "ONE" person out) where is the damage control for Asus?!?!
I mean shit there are excuses as to why this is happening, but when EVGA does a cock-up you better watch out for that backlash....
I'm just more or less asking a question is all.
And to @Silva you're damn right on that one good sir. Asus truly is a shadow of it's former self especially in the customer service area. One of the main reasons I stuck with EVGA. Don't even ask a question as to how I blew it up. Just that I did and it got replaced. Of course no obvious "marks" on the board for RMA now...
Do wish Asus could spin that service department around once again. Borderline MSI quality in this regard today...

So before you install your GPU, you first have to dismantle it.
Seems 2021 alright.

Crazy considering reported memory temp is that of the hottest chip, this was a simple error to trap.
But even when its this easy they have no QC.
Worrying failures.

When you buy 1000 dollars a card that used to be half this price, you can expect they gives you trash 😀

20 Years an ASUS user and never a problem. I wouldnt even think of taking my asus tuf 3070 card apart because it never gets over 65c gaming ever. And I have been using asus motherboards only and never had a bad one. Some people just have bad luck or cause thier own problems.

I think manufacturers have been under pressure to ramp up volumes to meet demand over the past year and is why we see some of these issues.
