Seems no manufacturer is immune to build cockups, not Evga, MSI, Gigabyte, nor Asus.

There is many brand but there is few factory, so the same factory do many brand (if not all)... So if it happen for one it happen for many... As an exemple i have worked long ago in a factory on a defective chain in a sportwear factory to fix it... The worker gave me a Jordan bag wrongly badged Reebok as a "souvenir". All other were destroyed In production crisis it happen...

Maybe these incidents get more attention than they used to. Or maybe manufacturers are so much in a hurry to ship GPUs to miners that they do not really care as much as they used to.

Not only miner... they used too much component for miner and now their factory lack of those component to fonction and produce card without problem, to give essential raw material producer the ability to give them the ability to make stock that could end the crisis... and so and so (it impact food production, security in medecine, commercial transaction and so). The snake eating itself... lol. But of course human will not learn from this 3rd global warning.

Shoddy workmanship from China for a mere price of 2000 USD.
It's pretty funny that prices are higher than ever but quality is lower than ever.

I've always bought Asus hardware, but I'll never again. Their quality control is not existent and costumer support is a shadow of what once was. If you want to avoid problems, avoid Asus as a brand.

Wait. So literally judging from the comments (and not pointing any "ONE" person out) where is the damage control for Asus?!?! I mean shit there are excuses as to why this is happening, but when EVGA does a cock-up you better watch out for that backlash.... I'm just more or less asking a question is all. And to @Silva you're damn right on that one good sir. Asus truly is a shadow of it's former self especially in the customer service area. One of the main reasons I stuck with EVGA. Don't even ask a question as to how I blew it up. Just that I did and it got replaced. Of course no obvious "marks" on the board for RMA now... Do wish Asus could spin that service department around once again. Borderline MSI quality in this regard today...

For your info the "quality control" isn't generaly done by the brand itself. They give a book of what they expected to manufacturer and they do the QC in house, the some guy can do many level from minimal crap for discounter or amazon, to zero tolerance for Jaguar, Channel etc... But if the whole factory is deficient, they have a big problem anyway.

It has gotten to a point that every brand is shoddy, who not to avoid tbh? EVGA - cards blew up due to "poor craftsmanship" Gigabyte - PSU's that explode MIS & Asus - shit QC whats left? Zotac? :/

So before you install your GPU, you first have to dismantle it. Seems 2021 alright.

So yeah. Like I said. Any company can be held under the microscope, but why is it that a particular company gets the shaft on discussion boards..? Especially prematurely at that. And if more than one brand is made in house at the same place that would truly mean that one brands hardware is not safe from another brands shortcomings. EVGA is the perfect example of this as they're hit with poor soldering points as of recent discovery. Would that entail that other brands could be at risk? Ultimately wondering myself as I've read on here more than one brand is made in the same place.

Crazy considering reported memory temp is that of the hottest chip, this was a simple error to trap. But even when its this easy they have no QC. Worrying failures.

Haha and then you find the problem where they're like "oh you dismantled it? Your warranty is now voided".

When you buy 1000 dollars a card that used to be half this price, you can expect they gives you trash 😀

20 Years an ASUS user and never a problem. I wouldnt even think of taking my asus tuf 3070 card apart because it never gets over 65c gaming ever. And I have been using asus motherboards only and never had a bad one. Some people just have bad luck or cause thier own problems.

You think this

is a user causing problems or bad luck? I'm seeing another problem.

I think manufacturers have been under pressure to ramp up volumes to meet demand over the past year and is why we see some of these issues.
