Can't wait for the 2021/2022 model with AV1 HW decode! It will be compulsory for all new Android TV (on Android 10 and 11) models in a few months.

Better (very, very) late than never... Even low cost phone, and every smart TV support those controler since day zero.

Well.. was just saying that the nVidia Shield looks like an awesome gadget (powerful and high quality), and that I can't wait to see how the next version comes out, pointing out that it'll have to have AV1 HW decode if it wants to have Android 10 or above. Not saying that the (late) inclusion of the new controllers is a good or bad thing...

It is a great little box, the hardware upscaling works brilliantly. (can a tad over sharpen with some stuff) No AppleTV or SkyGo but they both refuse to support it (by choice) It's also incredibly quick navigating the menu's.

But can it downscale ? For example can You watch 4k netflix on 1080p screen ? ( which is amazing btw). I have no idea why android tv doesn't support downscaling...

i wish they fixed the bug of the shield turning back on when you turn it off via phone. and occasionally it doesn't turn on the soundbar either.
