EPIC need to pull their finger out and release something playable. Their about as relevant as ID software atm.

That was great thanks for sharing.

Nice. Totally reminds me of 6 year old PhysX tech, except this (hopefully) isn't artificially locked to one GPU maker. So in summary I applaud Epic.

Nice, can't wait for that.

Ah, I see the armchair game developer conference is being held in this thread.

It just looks like marketing hype to me as an actual game most likely wouldn't be capable of this. A lot more happens in a game than 1 simple minion standing there. Plus I would like to see a playable tech demo to see where this stuff actually lies.

Haha, smart arse. But hey, im just saying that with the amount of time EPIC and ID take develop a game, the end result is 9/10 meh. What was the last game from EPICs main studio, GOW3?, they keep throwing out all the tech demos with, imo some of the best game IP idea's/ opportunities, such as the world/style/characters in the Samaritan demo and even the more recent one that i cant remember the name of, but i think the main protagonist was in a enemy base causing some mischief. Those two ideas are perfect, its like blade runner and that sort of future distopian setting. Instead Epic insist on releasing these half arse campy type games and characters like GOW and that stupid looking zombie game they 'showed off' awhile back. Whats the point of making all these engines that you know inside and out better than the other game companies you sell them to, only to make what are essentially just 'hide it from mum n dad' type games for all the 12yrs olds that still get their jollies off from excessive violence and profanity.

Why is it impossible for so called "PC gaming enthusiasts" to just appreciate the demo for what it is instead of the snide remarks and what they in their perfect world wish it would be? It's exactly that, a demo. It is not supposed to be anything else. As for UE's relevance, you are very wrong because this is the leading licensed game engine in the last 8 years. This is across platforms. It serves a purpose and works incredibly well. Essentially limited by what a developer chooses to do with it and the resources they want to pour into it. Epic is not iD, which has not produced an engine remotely as pervasive in years, the last one being the Quake3 engine. the last two tech engines have seen very limited use outside of iD and in fact the last one will not even be licensed. The Infiltrator demo is amazing and shows what is possible to achieve in real time using UE4. It's a tech demo of what an engine is capable of doing. Name any other engine that has shown an equivalent tech demo? A lot of money and time is spent developing these engines and associated tools so that they can be sold to other developers who may use them to make the games they want and how they want without developing their own engine, which is very expensive. Anyway, this is short but looks great. Can't wait to see how far this engine will go as over the years.

Because as PC gaming enthusiasts, we're well versed in the tech demo and preview/trailer marketing crap. Release fancy looking trailer, make promises and then deliver a game that has been graphically tailored for the weakest platform. As PC gaming enthusiasts, we supported these developers long before they found their current fame and fortune on consoles and they do nothing but talk, talk talk and have reduced their games from being actual fun to play, to simple quick-time event, watered down, bloated ui', achievements invested 'games' that sell purely on looks, rather than gameplay. Just take a look at everything from Ubisoft, its a perfect representation of the gaming industry as a whole. Its like watching a friend slowly succumb to Alzheimers. What your seeing from me and other gamers is that we're not really interested in marketing bull**** and flashy words, same game different engine, gen, platform etc. Excuse me for not falling for the COD effect. Im not one to fall for marketing hype, i prefer function over looks and i really dont like 'tech demos' that feature things that never end up in an actual game. If a game company is only interested in taking risks and being creative with tech demos and then proceeds to release the samething they released last time, well i dont really have time for them. Edit: Also, welcome to Guru3D, im (.)(.) and i tend to be a bit of an over opinionated toff, i just enjoy a good debate is all.

I really wonder if they are going to even bother making a game, they make so much money making the game engine and selling it to everyone a lot like the guys behind Unity. I am pretty sure over the last decade the unreal engine is the most used game engine out there.
