Nvidia's drivers have been supporting SLI in windowed mode (and thus borderless windowed/fake full screen mode) for years. AMD, however, has neglected to include CrossfireX support for windowed mode (although you could glitch it by rapidly switching modes and hope it'd stick for windowed with some drivers), so hopefully that'll change as well.
nvidia does support SLI in windowed but the performance hit, load balancing and frame pacing was absolute trash vs full screen exclusive. (I came from a quad gtx480 hydro copper system so lot's of experience with nvidia SLI) MS is promising no loss in performance with DX12 mGPU (though I'll believe it when I see it)

being this new Microsoft they will do it in such a retarded way that it wont even matter

Changing ownership doesn't always work, especially if you move the install location to another drive. Not only have I had issues taking ownership, but I've read all over the net where people have had issues taking control with Windows 10 1511.
Wow sucks you cant get at the files. Cant do it on Console/Android/IOS either. Go figure...

Will my Windows Experience Index tell me how well my UWP titles will run on each device?
Nope. Windows Experience Index persists only to not broke compatibility with older application using it. But that's not a tragedy: WEI was a failure since the beginning, it never worked well.
MS fixed what should never been broken in first place and they praise themselves. I'm still not buying this UWP "gaming". I will not buy any UWP game. I'm not a W10 hater as I use W10 on my main PC but I do not like the "app" approach on PC gaming. It will be better for all of us for Vulkan to succeed and take on DX12 but like in past it may fail too despite seem good. All depends on devs. They will choose the API they want to work with.
They did not broke anything: windowed mode never allowed unsynched frame-rate, even on borderless window mode. What they actually did is improve the borderless window capabilities, and that is possible thanks to the new compositor. they never removed a feature, they add one since WinRT application never had fullscreen exclusive mode access nor they have it now: current fullscreen mode is emulated so there is no more reason to have different behaviour from traditional desktop applications.

UWP honestly is a dumb way for MS to release their games. If they want to release their games/publish games, why not do with a non-restrictive interface like steam or something that actually gives you control over where the files are installed and lets you mod said files. Another stupid aspect of UWP is that because the files are locked, you can't create profiles for the games for mice/keyboards because you can't access the exe.

I still use Windows 7, thats my vote saying no to this crap. They break everything, fix some things (maybe) and say they listen and act.

The update is out. Windows build should now be 10586.318

What exactly? I am able to play games from 1995 and beyond without emulators.

Oh you wouldn't lose the files, just the ability to use them...
:3eyes: That's a terrible design decision.

Yes, but then again I was merely stating the purely hypothetical and being sarcastic.

So you have an issue with playing your XBox titles on the PC? That's what this is all about you know.. I welcome it.

Well, minus all the standard Microsoft sarcasm, I for one am happy. Cheers M$.

I know Micro$oft loves their XBOX, but locked framerates is not supposed to be a thing on PC.

Just tried the suggestion above and it still doesn't give you access to the files or folders inside the WindowsApps folder. I tend to agree with you on the "new" ability to play X1 exclusives on PC being a good thing. But... the roll-out of UWP has been a disaster. I can't believe Microsoft could blunder again like this after the XBOX ONE launch debacle. Someone over there needs to lose a job (probably more then one). I'm no fan of firing people but whoever is making the gaming decisions over there is REALLY bad at their job (I honestly doubt Phil Spencer had anything to do with it as he's is a great head for the XBOX brand). Anyway at least they are listening to the PC gaming community and making changes. But why do they have to roll something out and then completely change it AGAIN? Talk about not understanding your customer base!

When i dont understand why they implement it at first this way, it was not really a cap at 30fps as we have seen on some bad port before, it was capped at the max refreshrate of your monitor. If you had a 120hz monitor the cap will have been 120, 60hz, 60fps, basically matching the v-sync. Now the problem is on previous game who had this type of cap, it was possible to edit the ini. and remove it. not with UWP. What make me laugh a bit ( and i have still not buy a game on it ), it is sadly that we had allready seen thoses caps on number of games by the past on different games.

Awesome. Microsoft is catching up with 2014.
I must be missing something here. As far as I can tell Microsoft is catching up with the 80s, not 2014. It looks like the update appears in my auto update list (unlike build updates). Does the option to disable a frame lock have to be implemented in-game or is there a way to disable it globally for UWP?

You wish bro, it HAS to be implemented on a per-game basis which means it's got to be patched-in.

We're talking about microsoft here. Just add this app **** to that list that has been going on for a while about MS and their pc gaming involvement. I know there are fans of MS' games but I'd rather their games stay on their sinking ship than trying to ruin PC gaming.

I will never buy a game on windows store i like to use mods in my games and i use nvidia inspector instead of the nvidia control panel and also to make game profiles and tweaks ,i will be staying on win 7 for next few years , microsoft should stick to the xbox let the pc be an open platform, windows 10 is spyware harvesting your personal data and you lose your right to privacy and really all it has is dx12 if win 7 and win 8.1 got dx12 , win 10 wouldnt be very popular
