Cute, but it's more of the same junk that has been around from dx.com for a while now. Might as well go for one of the Google TV boxes (with passthrough) while you are at it.

I too think the remote is a nice touch - you'd think they would be more common considering they're meant for TVs and suck with mice and keyboards. It's a shame it uses a Rikomagic CPU. They're such a pain to work with if you want to do anything outside of the default setup and they have surprisingly poor performance for their specs, even in Android.

schmidtbag Rikomagic doesn't make CPUs, - they make products and there products may or may not have different CPU's in them. The Ugoos UM2 uses a Rockchip 3188 all in one CPU/GPU. True many android cpus are not supported by XBMC for hardware decoding but the Rockchip ones are as they do Open GL up to version 2.0 many of the earlier sticks used the Allwinner chips that are not supported but the Rockchip chipsets are, see the XBMC android supported chipsets here: http://wiki.xbmc.org/index.php?title=Android_hardware Note they still working on android support and devices may vary but the actual chipsets vary less what it really comes down to is the chipsets supported instruction set and that will be be identical for all specific model chips i.e. all devices using the Rockchip RK3188 chipset will support the same instruction set regardless of who assembled the chip onto a pcb. Additionally the instruction set is also generally similar for manufactures i.e. Rockchip CPU's will only add additional instruction sets with newer and newer products so its a safe bet if the previous model Rockchip chipsets had hardware support for XBMC all future ones will also have. PS: Id probably root anything I get and put Cyanogen mod on it who knows what software these dodgy companies are loading onto their devices (Spyware is a real possibility there is no brand loyalty and companies are starting up and disappearing over night). I think I trust the Open-Source community far more, CM is the way to go, hell even if CM is on it from stock id still reinstall 🙂
