Yeah... and there I would have wanted to wait for the open beta to check the game out, see if I like and buy it. But that I certainly won't do at EGS since it offers nothing over uplay. At least ubicrap was reasonable enough to keep it on their own launcher as well.

April fools?
It was in other news outlets on Saturday, I've learned. So unfortuantely I doubt it.

It's not an April fool's joke people, they're really doing it.

Epic, make piracy great again. Sadly, this is all these exclusives will achieve.

In a blog post of the Anno Union, the developers announced that Ubisoft entered into a partnership with Epic Games regarding Anno 1800. The game will be available digitally after the release on April ... Ubisoft: Anno 1800 will be removed from Steam on release date
You can still buy it in the Ubi Store... geez. Love you, Epic Store haters. 🙂

I would say Steam is so greedy... then some editor and indie leave it to see if Epic permit them to earn more and don't have to spend so much money to be in a game plateform. I don't think that Epic is better (at least right now) but the real problem is that Steam, despite being the most popular, is the worse for contract, and so since the begining (exemple: a friend that do a nice ind game, earn more money with GOG than Steam). Now that Epic touch a lot of people due to Fornite success, and that GOG stabilise it's users basis and have real good games... it's not a surprise.

Was this not the game series that had DRM hardware activation limits?

Can I just remind some people, that this is a game even though you bought it in Steam still downloaded and required uPlay?

Yes, we know. Just like every other game from Ubisoft, you can't get around Uplay (unless the game is DRM free, like Far Cry 2, or is bought through GoG). Guess what, you still need Uplay even in the case of Epic. Why does Ubisoft even bother with 3rd party launchers?
