People die all the time. Why is this tech news? More prevelant people die in the industry, all the time. Thousands of people die everyday without recognition. Does guru3d plan on opening an obituary page dedicated to everyone? A majority of enthusiast gamers stream now. This is not news at all. I hope the op dies today.

Damn dude, never hope for someone to die. Get your frustration elsewhere.

No idea who this guy was. Google the name. Intense smoking... sitting long periods of time... no rest. Yep, streaming a tough one. I'm glad i'm not a streamer having to make a living like that ^^

Who even cares? Another person died while playing games for too long. So what? I admit I am surprised it wasn't another crazy asian playing for a week straight though.

...a week straight.
Yeah 22 hours seems a bit low so I wonder what caused his death, two - three days without sleep can be a problem though then again I guess it's highly individual how long you can go before you simply pass out and there's probably other factors as well.

For whatever reason, this man's death brought him popularity he probably desired. Shame he is not alive to see the world googling his name.

While it is true that people die all the time, this death is quite significant due to it's circumstances. I imagine many Guru3D readers have watched Twitch and even streamed at some point and this event could very well affect some of us or even the whole live streaming industry. What if twitch banned 24 hour stream events? What if they banned the promotion of caffeinated energy drinks? These are some of the consequences that might be considered when people start to understand that Brian's death was caused by a variety of factors which include sleep deprivation, excessive amounts of caffeine consumption, smoking and sheer exhaustion while live streaming. There is already heavy regulation on smoking and alcohol. A simple root cause analysis reveals that this individual live streamed for excessively long periods of time on Twitch so that he could benefit from increased viewership and donations at the expense of his own health. You must consider at this point that it may be possible the way Twitch works (and incentivizes it's users) encourages this kind of hazardous behaviour.

Could you rewrite that sentence in regular english please? I don't understand. I mean, no offence, I'm not native english speaker either and sometimes have difficulties expressing myself.

I believe what he means is that 22 hours of streaming/sleep deprivation must be easy as "a walk in the park" and that anyone can endure up to 36 or 48 hours of similar treatment. FYI some twitch viewers have reported that Bryan performed many "24 hour charity streams" in less than a week which is very likely to have contributed to the cardiac arrest that ensued.

Ah. I get it. When I was in my early 20's, I could sit on my ass and play games for 16+ hours straight with just the help of painkillers (headache is pretty much inevitable for lots of people in such cases I believe), and I guess 24 would be fairly possible. Definitely not life-threatening even if I was obese, ill, chain smoker or whatever.

Cry me a river. Do you even care/know how many completely random and unknown people die in your country/city every day? And yet you're SJW'ing on an internet forum. You're the definition of a hypocrite.

....
Banned and thank you mods. Went through his history - pure poison. Back to topic - 22 hours is not a health risk for a person this age. There have to be some other contributing factors. Still - sad news about a young man.

With the exception of the extremely stupid last sentence, I fully agree with his post.

Yes that right as Lineman and Plumbers (I did this) do this all time in the winter months 36 hour on and no more and most go home and sleep for 8 hour, even war time like the world war 2 from what my grandfather told me there was days that he would be up for 3 to long 5 days in row.

If he was doing that way to much then yes that will be the most likely causes.

Hmm. While the guy might not have led a healthy lifestyle, he doesn't look morbidly obese. Kinda curious as to the exact reason of his death as there are other people who lead his lifestyle and don't seem near death.

It's disgusting, isn't it?

Well, that's just rude. Especially considering it's not stupid as a human can go for a few days without sleep - not that I ever tried it myself.

And you're the definition of a dick. What's wrong with Guru3D sharing this? Should they stop sharing because other people also die? You're just an eternally cranky rude forum member whose posts generally contribute nothing.
