Man that ain't bad at all for the price. I'll actually consider it since I've been entertaining the idea of going full SSD and dropping the old HDD in my old system as a NAS.

Damn, not bad. Even less excuses for some people to not have SSD now. It makes me sad how I see gtx1070, 6700k machines still without SSD because "it makes no difference"

They should try playing certain games that require the SSD for loading textures mid-game (such as PlayerUnknown's Battlegrounds). As far as the storage... unfortunately I recently had to buy a 3TB HDD for 90€, because SSD is still very expensive for those who require larger storage drives. I would love to eliminate the HDD as well, but 850-1000€ for 3TB worth of SSDs is at this point still too much. I run SSDs in Raid 0 as my primary "drive".

The only sata ssd I would consider buying right now would be a 4gb drive, to replace mechanical drives entirely for backup data, and not just for the data I could cull down now to squeeze my backup stuff onto a 2tb drive....why would you buy an expensive drive if it is immediately full. For a performance drive; boot drive and gaming it's worth the extra money for an m.2 drive, but I wouldn't even want to imagine what a 4TB m.2 drive would cost.

I'm still waiting for that 1TB $99 SSD, but I guess that won't happen in my lifetime...

Well, there no difference once everything loaded up. It's just tiny bit loading that last for ages. I moved from Raid0 HDD to 512GB SSD (EVO 850) for gaming drive. To be honest I expected loading to be faster. While I don't have to wait 4 minutes to load BF4 map, it still takes solid half a minute. Maybe setting in AHCI will improve it, or perhaps SSD is not cure to all loading times.

We still haven't quite hit Shrout's Law yet but we are getting closer.

Yeah in most games the difference after launching the game is not massive but I didnt mean just gaming.
