So this looks to challenge Intel's optane Memory.
If Toshiba has it, it will hit the masses eventually.
Looking forward to it

so instead of improving existing tech and eliminating the "issue/bottleneck",
they sell you another product.
seems to get normal these days..

" reach in excess of $3B in 20221."
Nothing like playing the long game eh. 🙂

Is it faster than optane 900/905p in 4k random read @ qd=1?
If not, I'll pass 😛
Samsung z-drive failed to compete with Optane in latency.
Hoping for more competition in this high performance sector.

@Kaarme
looking at nvme in general, how many are actually faster than their sata based ssd counterpart? how many of those will reach better speeds than ssd
when looking at nand write/read speeds?
even my older ocz vector 180 at 128gb is getting same sustained writes as the 970 evo (256) and cost less,
not even talking about power protection the nvme doesnt have.
i have no problem paying "more" for better quality and/or performance,
but if i dont see any difference once the manufacturers "make-it-look-like-its-fast" buffers run out,
i'd rather go with a sata based 2.5/3.5 unit with mlc nand.
so looking at this as a company, i would rather buy ram if my "workload" is latency sensitive,
or more storage if not. why another product that of course still needs a physical connection taking away storage ports iinm.
