Ughh, they just had to release it in may didn't they, now I'm about 5x more likely to buy a Nvidia card on release rather than waiting to see what AMD releases.

Ughh, they just had to release it in may didn't they, now I'm about 5x more likely to buy a Nvidia card on release rather than waiting to see what AMD releases.
I thought I heard AMD moved up the Vega launch to October? From all the speculation so far it sounds like people are expecting Vega to absolutely destroy anything nVidia will have. I even heard one video saying he expects Vega to be ~2x faster than a 980, not ~25% faster as the 1080 is expected to be.

Huh The 1080 is 25% faster than a 980Ti not a 980. The Vega October move up was based on a forum post, nothing credible. There is some info out of a company that 14nm packaging of HBM2 has been moved up to around Q4ish but most of the speculation is that the small Vega chip will be launched in October anyway, not the bigger one.

I've completely held off playing the game at all until all expansions were out. I played Witcher 2 only shortly before Witcher 3 was released. If this is the last expansion I can finally dive in and enjoy it all in one go. Sadly I have 2 weeks off work in the two weeks before the 31st.
