I'm in-favor of the EU ruling. I absolutely hate the direction USB is going in, where stifling "progress" might work in everyone's favor. Even 100W was an absurd and stupid idea, and there are too many devices with ambiguous compatibility.

there was no confusion it was all lie and propagada.... end of sarcasim i still not sure what MY MOBO actual supports it claims 3.1? none of usb docks or stick support anything higher then 3.0 and my dock is 2.0 That being said I would like if all device use the same connection cause it would convenient but also think 100watt coming threw usb cable is bad idea let alone 250w special consider the gauge of such cables

Hence why I mentioned confusion and because your motherboards USB 3.1 seems to be Gen 1 USB 3.1 Gen 1 = USB 3.0 (USB 3.2 Gen 1×1) 5Gbps USB 3.1 Gen 2 = USB 3.1 (USB 3.2 Gen 2×1) 10Gbps USB 3.2 Gen 2×2 20Gbps To add a bit more confusion... USB-C can be any of those above!

so i dont actual have 10gbps usb port. frack it not like use them, No more x.1 they need to stick to 3 then 4 then 5 extra so there no fracking confusion i dont even think 3.0 or 3.1 gen 1 i have is intel i think it 3rd party
