Apparently this happens about every 11 years, which means I have experienced this 3 times in my life, and I don't remember anything out of the ordinary ever happening because of it

That's because after 11 years the changes are too subtle to notice. The problem with the solar maximum is all it takes is 1 CME to blast toward us to cause some electronic mayhem. But considering how huge the sun is and how tiny the earth is, we don't get hit by destructive CMEs that often, so we basically just get some extra hot summers and that's it.

No, it has the same name and is fairly recent. Was about 3 hours and the story revolved in the sun soon to be turning supernova in present time. Thus killing all humans of course. No one survives a supernova. The ending was arse! It is the 2005 movie, since there are several also crappy movies with the same name. Supernova must be a synonym for b-movies. :banana: The user reviews of that movie on imdb are hilarious.

not here in EU.. We have 38-42C in shade. Usually its 29-34C this time of year.. Edit: Although there is a cooler rainier weather on the way, it will drop to 22-27C next week. 🙂 Finally, this 40C drought for the last 3-4weeks was a bit too much. I saw cornfields and grass all brown and almost dead..

Should be true, NASA had released recordings of something like that made by Voyager.
