Should be interesting to see how well it works in everyday use.

So, the Alienware QD OLED has 2 issues: fan noise and bad performance in bright environments. The Gigabyte AERO OLED has screen flicker under 80ish % screen brightness. (and its 60Hz). The LG C2 42 inch is too big. Lets see how good this Razer OLED is. We are getting VERY close to having "the" OLED screen. The one everyone will want. But we are not there just yet.

Wow that price tag, how does $3,500 not get you at 3080ti in there? or least a 3080, laptop prices that crazy? or this a big razer tax

Metal aluminium chassis? OLED? 32GB Ram. It's not as if it's cheap by design.

I have the Alienware and it has neither of these issues... fan is fine and if there is bad perf in bright environments I'm not noticing it, thing is awesome. Really the thing that needs to be resolved with OLED is burn in, and of course costs. After burn in is non existent like regular LCD then /wave all other panel tech.

Not saying its cheap by design, just that the 3080ti model probs set you back 5k Heard they're decent laptops that Razer make but man that price tag

With a spec like that it wouldn't need an upgrade for over 5 years.

OLED burn in with long term PC use will only be avoided by keeping brightness down so I suspect this wont be very bright, especially with HDR. It will no doubt be adequate for normal use. Being a laptop even more so to keep power use down and battery life up. Though they can use different power profiles, too large a difference in brightness when on battery wont please owners. imo 🙂

being razer i would expect a higher price tag

Your eyes perceive everything in a curved motion, so there is less eye strain.

True, even low brightness OLED is still way better than any LED though lol. Main issue for me is that burn in thought running around in your head when using an OLED display. Removing that anxiety is key to this tech really taking hold imo, especially with PC/Laptop displays.

our eyes also have "dof" effect when we not looking at stuff directly, that dont mean everyone likes "dof" effect use in games. I have seen and used curved monitors and i dont like, and every person i know that "bought" curved monitor in the end returned it for flat one.

I still waiting on VA 27" that 1440p or 4k that isnt curved and a low quality VA panel to boot, all the good one are curved, Though i think it more likely we see OLED happen first

240Hz OLED sounds like the battery is going to run out in like 11 minutes. Battery-life is basically the only negative with these new Razer laptops.

Dark mode helps in that respect. Most sites(including Guru3D) have a toggle to switch to it. Helps to save battery.

I believe the fan thing is subjective to the user (also, as the monitor gets older and more dust gets into it, the fan WILL become louder). I have seen a review of the OLED alienware and there is a noticeable difference with and without ambient light, while there is little to no difference with the LG OLED tvs. [youtube=YleSuwK8vR4] (7:56). The whole point of OLED is to get that high contrast (at this point LCDs can cover 100% od DCI-P3, so OLEDs no longer have a leg up in color gamut). I guess response times and motion clarity still is in question, depending on the OLED panel in question, mostly because it seems there is some input lag in the Alienware oled. It is still an amazing display, but it does fall short of a few things.
