Nice one ScoobyDooby, what's a BLB though? Also, what was your previous monitor, maybe put a pic for comparison. 🙂

If it isn't 4k with +120hz i won't buy it.
Why did you feel the need to post exactly the same thing in the same thread, twice? OT: It's an awesome monitor, probably one of the best on the market at the moment for those who want immersive gaming.

Backlight bleed.

I can take a photo tonight for perspective. I didn't think it would be such a huge difference, but it actually is. It looks like the x34 is thinner as far as height, however its just the thinness of the bezel compared to the Qnix monitor since both are 1440. Its also so friggen wide, I'm considering taking my tower off the top of my desk since its 60% covered by the screen lol

Nice, I'm curious about the comparison since I too have a 27" 1440p panel and from what I can imagine it's like my screen but a lot wider. I bet movies look great on your new monitor as well. 🙂

I don't own such a monitor, but I've sat in front of a few. You might not think it, but the curve adds as much as the increased viewing angle. I'd highly recommend looking up local stores with curved ultrawides on display, if only to take a visit. It's difficult to fully articulate the difference without being able to show said difference first hand. If you are buying a monitor for highly immersive (not necessarily competitive) gaming, you can do a hell of a lot worse than a 3440 x 1440 curved screen.

Oh baby, picked this beauty up last night. Amaze. Slight BLB on the left side which is visible, but no other issues. No dead pixels, no weird noises, no flicker etc. Super happy.. if it stays working properly I may have gotten a good one 🙂
Congrats man, awesome screen, im not jelly 🙂, i got an LG34UC97 21:9 curved screen, only 60Hz but i love the ultrawide/IPS and curve. I grew impatient and couldnt wait lol. I replaced my 3 22" with the ultrawide and im much happier with it, its not as wide obviously but no bezels, tidier, less cables/power consumption and easier to drive, best all round solution at the moment and the ultra wide is great for youtube on one side and browsing on the other.

Agree with you fully. I can't do multi-monitor again.. just sucks when you compare it to these new ultrawides for all the reasons you mention. Yeah it was a tough wait for real.. I wanted to jump on the LG months ago but I maintained my patience.

Haha, more patience than me. If you can pull the screen right up, like about 1.5 feet in front of you, its awesome gaming on it at that range as the curve is really promminent. I do it for a few games in particular like GTAV, love it. Dont forget flawless widescreen and the manual MGSV 21:9 mod if youre playing it.

Have you sat in-front of one, and used it? If you haven't, you're not liable to get it.

I haven't and I do (I think :P). Basically, I guess it works best in a first person RPG like Skyrim or Fallout 4 for example and if you have the screen not too far from you and a on a stand (or elevated to your head's angle), it will add a lot to immersion thanks to the wider view and the curve. If the monitor is farther away and you have to look down or up, I think the effect is less evident.

Can confirm. Playing Witcher 3 a bit last night was awesome. It definitely feels more immersive.. no question about that. I didn't think it would be a very huge difference, but it is. Can't say whether or not the novelty of it will wear off, but for now it is stellar. What sucks is I haven't had enough time to game on it, but the weekend is fast approaching 🙂

See TVs I totally agree. Not a fan of them.. however for a desktop monitor, the curve is not so pronounced. When you sit a couple feet away its not that noticable, but does provide a bit extra immersion factor. IMO Acer got it just right.

I agree with this. For TVs a curved screen makes no sense. The whole point of the curved monitor is to simulate a screen that surrounds you. For it to work you need to sit only a couple feet away otherwise the benefits of the curved screen lose their value.

also it works for computer screens because youre the only one watching it so youre positioned directly in the centre where the screen curves around you therefore because of the curve it takes up move of your field of view. @tsunami231 Its not just for first person games its brilliant for third person also, GTAV is absolutely stunning with an ultrawide curved screen as is the Witcher 3

^ I'm, sure it is, it's just that in first person I think the immersion factor will be even bigger since it simulates real world field of view (especially if the screen is very near).
