Boy, would I ever like to get my hands on one of these. My have to start saving my pennies. It would be great if you were able to do a review Hilbert.

I wish a monitor manufacturer would include GSync and Freesync in a single monitor - I just can't stand the thought of trying to decide one or the other monitor and then being stuck with only one option of either AMD or NVidia graphics cards forever after that...

I would've thought that it wouldn't cost a lot more for existing Gsync monitors to implement Freesync too. Also, offering both technologies would seem to be a big selling point so you have to wonder if Nvidia impose restrictions on monitor manufacturers.

Just realised it shouldn't be called 21:9. Should be 7:3!

While Freesync implementation may not add much to price. Look at it from other side. AMD user who can have same functionality for reduced price would have to pay premium for GSync. Yes, there are customers who would pay 10% more to have both technologies. But best for customer would be if nV supported AdaptiveSync. That would cost them every $ they get from GSync monitors. It would cost them long term Lock-In. As now, every GSync screen is customer who will think twice before changing teams.

But it works the other way around too - long term lock out of NVidia future card sales if current AMD customer buys Freesync monitor... ... as now every Freesync screen is customer who will think twice before changing teams. Just bloody annoying either way for end users... So in the end I just buy a Freesync which can be used by any card in future in either Freesync or traditional no-sync mode. But anyway all this is moot anyway as virtual reality headsets will be here soon and all this "gaming" monitor stuff will be going the way of the CRT...

By the time we get there, you'll want 8k +240Hz.

Wow, looks incredible, but what is the refresh rate on the g-sync model? 60?100?

Never going to happen, flat screen technologies were a logical progression from bulky CRT designs. A VR headset is a totally different thing, it's more of a complimentary device than a replacement. I've next to zero interest in headsets, the same stands for a large chunk of the people I know. There's a multitude of reasons why headsets wont replace traditional screens. 1. Some people game in social situations, no I don't mean over the internet. In that scenario a screen is a necessity, unless you want to be sat in a room full of people wearing headsets. I can't say that appeals to me. 2. People with vision problems are unlikely to opt for headsets, be it due to wearing glasses or having a dominant eye, etc. 3. Comfort is a big thing for many people, a surprisingly large amount of people dislike being sat with headphones on for prolonged periods. Wearing a VR headset is going to be ten times worse for most. I could list a few more, but honestly I think my point is made.

Remember, the bigger number is always better! 😀

Agreed, headsets to monitors are like mobiles/tablets are to PCs, they will never replace them, but if you have a use for one, they are great (Speaking from borrowing a DK2 for a good few months) Took a while to rid myself of the motion sickness, but it happened eventually, I think I`ll be going for a Vive at some point, so long as there are more than demos that is, that put the DK2 back in it's box on the side of the desk for me

Max refresh on the Freesync model is 75hz. Max refresh on the Gsync model is 100hz when overclocked. I am a bit embarassed at how much I spent, but I bought one. I've been waitiing on this monitor for almost a year now, so I jumped on it when the finally came available for preorder on NCIX. Just don't ask how much I spent. :bang:
