Crazy, I thought the PS5 already had that at launch?
Why soo long to implement it, given it's practically the same gpu/video chip as the Xbox?

Took them their sweeet time. The PS5 was release 1.5 years ago.
And mind you that even the Xbox One had support for VRR.
Regardless, it's great news for owners for PS5, as they can now benefit of one of the best techs ever invented for gaming.

oh i thought that was a thing a while now ^^ ! Better late than ever then VRR will be just a god send on games that target 60 fps and often have variations on heavy scenes down to 45-50fps or loaded areas ! And i hope the next gen of consoles will get VRR from the get go from day 1 as standard !

Better late than never I guess, same goes for their line-up of TV's which promised VRR, how long did that take?

It'd be nice if you could actually buy one. They haven't been for sale in my country for probably a year. Only scalpers have them and you are not able to order one through stores here. Pretty poor really.

It's terrible. The range is 48-120, and unless a game has an unlocked frame rate option itself, it never engages. Which means it doesn't help with games with bad pacing, like Bloodborne.

IT does work with hdmi 2.0 TV's or monitor that have freesync compatibility

Tested this in Spiderman and indeed got very smooth 90-100fps in RT mode, wicked!
