BLEH!
If it's anything like my current board (X58 ASUS Supercomputer), a workstation grade thing, which has been ragged constantly for 5 years, I'd get one. Solid hardware lasts, and server grade stuff has to do that.

It's hideous though. No window for that build.

First pic gave a flashback of the first time I laid eyes on a Tyan board back in '98...now they're like super expensive lol! It'll be a reliable board no doubt, looks good.

Personally, I like the board. Reminds me of the good ole DFI motherboards.
I usually like this are done a little bit different.

Honestly I don't understand this idea that motherboards can be red or blue or orange or pink but as soon as we get a green motherboard it's aesthetic is attacked, I actually like green stuff, Nvidia seems to like the colour green as well so i'm a little baffled as to what the problem is?
in a perfect world motherboards would come in a multitude of colours, thankfully we have colour changing led's in a lot of boards these days but even so I think more choice can only be a better thing.

I am actually happy to see that you guys do not (well at least not all of you) agree with me on the colors and design. I knew upfront that it is partly a subjective thing. I know I was struggling with it in the conclusion when compared to the ASRock, GBT, MSI and ASUS motherboards I just felt that this design simply would not have a chance. Perhaps that retro feel actually is a thing for some.
It's good to see that people can appreciate the (albeit not intentional) somewhat retro feel and looks. It certainly is a nice peace of hardware. Perhaps after some BIOS fixes and improvements this will become a viable solution for people to purchase. SMC is struggling hard the reach the gamers segment.
Anyway I guess I am trying to say is that I actually like the fact that not everybody agrees with me on the design.

To be fair the mint green doesn't really do it for me, I prefer more of an nvidia green but still there is a trend that seems to favour every other colour than green these days, I mean try and find one high end board that comes in green, it's a nightmare, the only one I know of is the Gigabyte Sniper and now this SuperMicro, most boards either come in red white or blue.

Yeah, it would be perfect if it were more silver green or metalic green, also that PCH logo more futuristic minimalistic, not so curved 😀

Aesthetically, very pleasing, kinda "relaxing" I'd say. Very different from that ugly trend lately adopted by Asus - the upper surface designed in a "necropolis style", too black/metalic-grey, too morbid.
With the BIOS overhaul and the price set a notch lower than the competition, this mobo could easily find it's customers.

Where were GREEN color mainboards when I was building my rig? Not the best green color but I love the fact that somebody finally went that road.Hope others will follow. Bored and sick of all red, black, white combos. And that DFI board mentioned earlier? LEGENDARY 😀
