despite i would buy a SMC or a Tyan for my server or workstation (indestructible and compatible with nearly everything), I don't know if i would buy a "gaming" board from them... Same as if MSI does server board... Gygabite does but it's "mac donald's" level. only exeption ASUS. but who know? with better product they can be great gaming brand... nice review HH

Wow, the IO is very small....And no shields on the motherboard along side small looking heatsinks for 250 euros which is about..$270? That's pretty steep, I think the board would do better in a lower price range.

Most of the time you use few of the IO... i have seen far smaller on high end. Heatsinks show the pro origin of SMC 🙂 lol it is very effective but small... most "gamer"'s huuuuuuuge heatsink are just average... but they are cute... lol 🙂 About the price i agree all the way. a bit too expensive.

This is Supermicro boys. You get what you need and only that. That's why their boards really are the most stable boards on the planet. My Proxmox rig runs on a Supermicro board and it's infallible. I know a few people who own Supermic's as well & they would tell you the same. I have 2 HBA's with a RAID5 running between them, both PCIE 4X running off a Xeon 1230 (v1). Never had a single throughput issue with the mechanical HDD's (2TB WD Reds. I serve HD media to up to 6 people at a time and run VM's too). Great boards that never fail from my experience. Furthermore I have seen gaming boards with IPMI's from them which is an awesome feature, we can login via a separate network card and monitor system vitals. That's huge. Smart move by them. My next gaming board will 100% be a Supermicro. I can't wait to try them.
