Proof that there are tons of smurfs and cheaters. I would be interested in statistic showing number of accounts which own only CS:GO (over time). Their ban rate and rate at which new accounts are made. Correlation between Banhammer strikes and new account creation. And then, I would like to see histogram(distribution) graph for each CS:GO Rank showing how good/bad K:D ratio people have right after they finished qualification matches. (This would show which ranks are smurf plagued. As in normal situation there should be normal distribution with peak around K:D = 1, but smurfs would create additional peak with higher K:D. And as result those usual players which would have peak around 1, will perform worse and K:D of main peak may be even 0.8~0.9)

I have 550 hours spent in CSGO and I have to say, in my evolution from Gold 2 to Supreme I haven't noticed many smurfs and I can count the amount of cheaters I've experienced in my games on one hand. I do admit that this was before the rebalancing of the ranks a few months ago. I haven't had the time to play from then. But I do overwatch and don't see as many cheaters as you'd expect. Most of the time people either report in rage or report 'just to be safe' (like I do). Number of reports per account is unlimited unlike in Dota2, so if I feel someone's fishy I'll report them - I'm saying this to "prove" that people really report a lot, the chances of a cheater getting away is quite small. They even report in deathmatches jesus. CSGO really has been growing a lot. Even my casual friends are picking it up because it's cheap and it's a great source of lols.

I do play very rarely. I have it from day one and If I was not to make rank to allow me to play with friends, I would not have more than 20 hours on record. Now I have 73. And while I do not like way guns/character movement works in CS:GO, it is way better than CS:S had. I would love to have CS 1.6 just ported to newest iteration of engine without single change to game mechanics code. But what I really dislike is community there, it is nothing like R6:Siege or other more expensive games. In those qualification matches I did last Xmas I was kicked from match 5 times, because some 8~10 years old kids from Eastern Block realized at start that I am doing qualification. And that's counted as defeat of sorts. I would really like to be placed in match with mentally mature, English speaking players. And I do not like people randomly reporting others. I have my share of non-VAC bans in CS 1.6. My only cheating comes from Hardware. I was good with 60Hz screen, but at time I got 120Hz, I was stellar. But I no longer play that much.

Can totally relate. Placement matches are generally hell and you're simply better off ignoring your teammates and relying on your own game sense. Or filtering through the bull**** they say (if you can stand it) and hope for actual callouts and information. Starting from MG1 you can see some half-decent people, but that doesn't mean there aren't any idiots in LEM-Supreme. I played a few placements the other day and got into AK2 (was expecting DMG) and got upranked to MGE in a few matches. It's relatively fine at these ranks, I mean I get ok teammates. Randomly reporting others is not something I am 100% comfortable with, but I only report in packs. If I see that 2 more people in my team think that an opponent is fishy we'll report him. Sometimes I do get a bit edgy and can't think straight so I rely on them. It's not the best solution but better safe than sorry. Worst case scenario the overwatchers just waste their time. Which is something bound to happen sooner or later, I see nothing on overwatch many times. And I, as well, feel that a 144Hz monitor has helped me improve. A lot.

I have 2214hrs on csgo. I was always much more of a deathmatch player (quake3, UT, HLDM was my fav). People don't play those kinds of games much anymore though. With the death of dm, I moved onto CS. At the time HLDM was popular was when cs 1.3? was out and I started to get into it around 1.5 online and at lan parties. Spent a lot of time playing CSS. I had CSGO early on, but, it didn't feel right. I didn't switch from CSS to CSGO until around mid 2011/2012. It got better as I started to make more friends and get teams together. Still probably one of my most played games right now due to being able to get people to play easily.
