So people still haven't learn not to pre-order.

They never will. As expected, DS3 craze on steam.

At least they are not massively pre-ordering Battleborn. My worst expectations came true with that game. - New characters as part of DLC - Having most of characters as skill shot based and then adding lame auto aim characters And what's worst I actually like only 2 out of 25 initial characters. Well, I can continue playing SMITE, where developer Cares, Improves, re-balances, Adds new game modes/features. And in cost smaller than this you get 75 Gods today. At closed beta we started with 20. And what's best? While it is DX9 game, it looks and runs incredibly well as they cared to optimize it.

I am happy to see Space Engineers on there again..... I love that game so much.. It's still under heavy development, recently having planets added.

Not sure where you get you info to be honest as it is a bit incorrect. I am not sure how you can expect perfect balance for a game of this type before launch. If they had it, the beta would be rather pointless. Also the paid DLC does not include new heroes. The additional playable chars as well as game-modes and maps will be free. The paid stuff will be cosmetics and PvE. http://www.gamespot.com/articles/battleborn-microtransactions-and-dlc-plans-detaile/1100-6435708/

My info comes from actual gameplay + YT. And about balance, I did not even went that way. I just wrote "Having most of characters as skill shot based and then adding lame auto aim characters". If you introduce this thing to game, there is no way around it. It is totally wrong thing to do especially on Consoles where you play on gamepad. A tremendous band of heroes fight to protect the universe’s very last star from a mysterious evil in this next-gen shooter by the creators of Borderlands. Receive 5 DLC packs, each pack allowing you to command your Battleborn on all new Story Operations. Plus instantly unlock 5 new heroes when they release, and gain awesome new skins and taunts along the way.
Even Paragon has more to it than this. There Beta costs $20, unlocks all even future heroes. No pay wall for anything at all. Tho, Paragon feels bit too slow to me most of the time.

Depends on the game and their launch day or previous day review embargo. Dark Souls III is the first game i had pre-ordered ever because there were reviews from reliable sites/ppl BEFORE launch and we knew it's a "mashup" of Dark souls 1 and Bloodborne. 😀 I was able to play it since minute 1 and no regrets at all: GREAT GAME.

In other news, no Doom on the list.

The developers and publisher were confident enough in the quality to release the game early for some reviews, as opposed to some publishers enforcing NDA until release date. In DS3 case, one could have confident preorder.

Factorio in the Top Ten again, just awesome the guys behind this must be loving and dreading (due to increased bug hunters) the increased player base.

I am pretty sure the aim assist can be tweaked or even disabled for the PC if proven troublesome. That is why I put it under "balance" I will admit the wording on the steam DLC is really bad and might give people the wrong impression. There are no heroes behind a paywall of any kind. At least going by what they are officially stating at this time. Don't get me wrong - the game may flop, crash, burn, etc. not arguing that. I just thunk the beta is actually decent. Better than Overwatch closed one for me. I like the developer and hope they do well with this.

It's not AIM assist on PC. It's character which has auto targeting beam in damn wide angle. You have console players who has to use skill shot (aim perfectly in case of hit scan weapon, or account for projectile and enemy speed) to hit vs. character which only need to see you. Now there is classical movement speed penalty if you attack or get hit. How do you run from someone who always hit? Or even better how do you run away or attack character who does not get movement penalty from shooting you (best kiter ever). There are quite a few broken characters, broken in their core mechanics and that is unlikely to be reworked. And on top of that it is game based on Holy Trinity. Current meta is: have healer or pray that enemy does not have him too or is damn bad. With this game it is likely that Meta will not change much from this. But on top of it, it will be: Team has to have Miko/Ambra (or both), not have Kleese/Reyna. That's for healing/support roles. Take Whiskey Foxtrot over Oscar Mike. Take Isic Over Toby. Have Galilea and Marquis. Basically main concern is very narrow meta. 25/30 heroes is a lot, but if only 10 of them are genuinely competitive... You would not be happy in matches where total noobs not knowing what they are doing win just because they took Ambra + Isic + Galilea and you dared to play your best game with Pro. skilled Rath + Benedict + Kleese. 5v5 clashes are very different if both teams have healer in comparison to both teams not having healer. And as results having vs not having healer makes even bigger difference.
