Ok so there is more 3090 users than the whole rx6000 series. I think steam survey is on crack.

All of those Nvidia cards were probably detected from a single mining warehouse.

"Noone" wants rx 6000 series compared to nVidia 30 series, so maybe most people are on crack? Look at 3dmark, and you will see the same trend there with numbers of subs with 30 series cards vs rx 6k cards... It's a silly survey performed via steam. It does not mean a ton either way. Too many variables and possibilities including Steam getting some funds from one vendor or both to influence that in a certain direction. I don't trust that any more than the gas lighting BS that is political polling.

Solved. All those miners did a steam survey.

I have a 6000 series card and don't have a Steam account. Perhaps Nvidia owners like Steam, AMD owners don't... 😀

I think this comes down to supply since everything they make is sold really I mean if AMD was capable of making the same amount of cards as nvidia in this current market we would see a 1-1 in terms of sales for AMD and Nvidia cards. The demand is there Nvidia just has far more production with Samsung than AMD does with tsmc.

In a time of limited chip production, AMD did the obvious choice. They can charge 500$ msrp for a CPU like the 5800X, this is a 80 mm2 chip on 7nm. Then they only need to ad packaging, a cooler and a box. But for a GPU, they can charge 500$ msrp, for a 6700XT. This is a 336 mm2 chip on 7nm. And then they still need to ad vram, pcb, cooler, vrms, chokes, hdmi, DP, usb ports, etc. The profit margin for a CPU is much bigger, than for a GPU.

Many rx6 series cards in stock here, but noone wants them. It has been in stock for weeks... https://www.proshop.no/?pre=0&s=Rx6&inv=1

not really it's availability that matters e.g. if I hit "6800" search term into my shopping browser there are 14 results (models, not units) altogether available for both 6800 and 6800xt I hit 3090 and there are 30 entries 3090 has been the best in terms of availability this gen actually.so not only they outsold them in units, they also got more for each unit they sold in return.amd cards are sold at slim margins. another thing is msrp and lhr look at partner versions of 6800/xt,they were usually priced much higher than 3080/ti hub already talked about it,amd set msrp unrealistically low and partners would have made colse to no money if they adjusted to amd's msrp.6800xt is 5600pln here,3080ti is 6600pln.So 2x theoretical msrp is 17% realistically due to 3080ti being lhr. 3070ti lhr is pretty much same price as 6700xt here. and fanboys will again say it's "the mindshare" amd preferred to see nvidia fail this gen rather than make sure their own product are available.so much clickbait techtuber commentary about how nvidia is evil, and in the end amd wasn't able to supply half as many units to gamers as nvidia. they got outsold as badly as ever, maybe worse.and it serves them right.

Overpriced as ever and miners targets rtx series still therefore high demand. It has nothing to do with steam survey which is gaebage.

Probably because AMD supply is constrained with TSMC, Nvidia using Samsung so aren't directly fighting for supply against AMD/Apple an everyone else on TSMC 5nm process.

No wonder they remain double MSRP, too many cows on the planet.

I think "noone" wants them at that price! That is different than "noone" wants them. Big difference! If the price is "normal", they would sell fast all AMD 6000 series. I'm amazed in performance difference between my old 5700xt and new 6800xt. Card is a Beast! RT? I don't care about RT until there will be Graphics cards that could manage 4K resolution with RT enabled at 120+ FPS! I'm not interested in any DLSS shit, and "lowering" image quality (FSR also). Until then, i don't care about reflections on car windows or water surfaces!

Writer of this news item clearly missed something. You see, AMD has made huge gains on Radeon HD 8800 series: AMD Radeon HD 8800 Series 0.46% 0.51% 0.58% 0.62% 0.70% I doubt many recognize this. Let me help: https://www.guru3d.com/news-story/amd-oland-radeon-hd-8800-series-info.html https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Radeon_HD_8000_series This outlines how badly RTX 3090 sells. AMD sells almost double amount 2012 OEM GPU's than Nvidia sells their flagship card 😛

Here in Australia, the 6800XT seems consistently AU$1999 while the 3080 RTX is AU$2499 and upwards! If you want a 3080 Ti, AU$2799 upwards. (Just off a very quick scan). It's a pretty big difference now.

i think it's been like that forever dollar zone favors amd,eur zone favors nvidia both in price and availability.
