Way overpriced to be able to compete with AMD's price/performance.. no way they will sell like this. Expecting price drops soon.

Well it depends. On this generation was all about gaming. So if the 10400 is able to keep up with 3600/3600x fps is well priced. If the 10600k is able to keep up with 3700x fps, is fine. People won't look for extra 2 cores, since this generation is just about gaming, fps will be KPI to sell.

This is absolutely insane. I can buy a 3900x 12 core with 450EU.
data/avatar/default/avatar03.webp
Well the same answer apply. If in the tasks you want a 10700k is faster, that 4 extra core will be worth nothing. We can pretend that intel is not able to sell cpus and that they do not know that their reputation is still mostly intact among the average consumer. I can make you an example, if microsoft would issue now an overhaul of ie11 browser that makes it perfectly safe and web compliant, and fast, how many people will switch back from chrome in the first year? no one. I mean non tech savvy people love intel, and tech people loved it too for years, they know how to sell their cpus and prices will work. Or we can continue to pretend they are crazy

Spain has hot summers, may affect sales depending on thermals of these chips

They seem overpriced , i5 10600kf is the main gun TBH and it's priced way above 3600X .....
data/avatar/default/avatar19.webp
10400 is not a concurrent for Ryzen 3600, he is slower and hotter...

Chiller manufacturers should start releasing gamer editions compatible out of the box with LGA1200 socket.

Too expensive as others have already said. I hope the prices drop after release otherwise...

LGA1200 has the same mounting holes as LGA1151 so no need to adapt anything they are already compatible.

Intel knows how to do business, if nothing else. Both honestly and dishonestly. I'm fairly sure they have planned the prices for maximum profit, keeping in mind how much they can manufacture. If the price was too good, there would be more demand than supply, which would be a waste from Intel's point of view since they aren't exactly desperate for market share. When they make them a bit more expensive, the demand will be lower, but there will be always enough people buying Intel for the old times sake and because of the critical 10 fps more in games. Who knows, maybe it will be a cold summer and they will need the extra room heating as well.

If these prices are for real, they are dead on arrival.

Makes me wonder about the i3s as well since they will be competing against the 3100x and 3300x respectively. But I do agree that these prices are outrageous.

The chip/lid height can present a problem for older coolers. A slight mod might be needed and/or care not applying too much pressure. Or even not able to apply enough pressure if the chip is lower. Depends how tall these chips are. My feeling is it wont be a big issue but anything is possible.

They have to put a sticker "LGA 1200" compatible on the box... Holes and height are the same (It was on intel website when they announced the new socket)

No link to the actual retailer. Or I just missed it. Btw, the e- trailer is Pccomponentes.

I like how `those prices are higher than expected` becomes `OUTRAGEOUS` and `COMPLETELY INSANE`, `DEAD ON ARRIVAL` so easily.

LOL, they will be out of stock shortly after they launch, yet people here will try and say they are dead on arrival. Intel sells, people. Just cause you don't want to buy or can't afford it doesn't change that fact.

That's life. You pay premium for best in class.
