I've got a Sony X900h that was branded as "PlayStation 5 Ready". Seems there's loads of issues with gaming related features: 4k 120hz being half vertical resolution, Dolby Vision is supported but not at 4k 120hz and they're only just bringing Variable Refresh Rate and Auto Low Latency modes in a firmware update along with a load of other bugs. Do I'm not convinced about this announcement until I see that everything works flawlessly.

@kcajjones might wanna google what dolby vision is for. how many movies that were shot in DV the last 5y, have 120Hz? so why support 120Hz in DV, that almost no movie/show is using?

I think he is talking about DV 120hz gaming.

sure, but how many ppl that buy a DV TV for 120hz gaming. 1-20% depending on size, so manufacturers wont care to support a combo not used in broadcasts/movies.

It's the future, I want the tv to be useful for years. I bought the tv thinking it had dolby vision at 4k 120hz with vrr. I exclusively use it in my lounge with my pc so I have access to films, TV shows and games. It's just a poor effort (not to mention misleading advertising) that it can technically support these technologies individually but not combined (as intended).

not really. no brand is stating DV@120hz (for gaming), and any "5 min research" would have shown that to you PRIOR to purchase. listing different features does not mean you can combine those. (ur not alone, happened to me too, cause i "thought", instead of finding out.) but most of the time the vrr feature is more noticeable than higher refresh. e.g. playing same FPS at ~60 with vrr, felt the same (input), compared to gaming moni doing 120hz. if ur running 10, turn on the input lag reduction, same for Nv reflex (R6 siege and others offer it), on is enough no need to set it to "boost", and my sony (120hz/ DV) behave/feels like a 120/144 gaming moni, render times around 2-7ms, and i expect it to get a little better once VRR gets enabled..

Its expected, as Samsung started something similar with XB about 2y ago..
