Nice work. Though U prefer the PTs native engine/look personally. Im sick of seeing that UE taint in every god damn game. This version also seems to have waaay to much chromatic aberration applied. Imo, the PT original looks cleaner. I suppose this is going to get more praise over PT native simply because this one is done using UE4.

Taint? But I don't really prefer either one. Agreed on the chromatic aberration.

PT wasn't released on PC.

Taint as in that UE 'look' that most games using UE (whatever version) have.

Yeah... I know. :3eyes:

I know exactly what you mean. Its something about the Models, or the Environments that just instantly tells you, this is an Unreal Engine game. I think the only ones that managed to diverse were Mirrors Edge & The Vanishing of Ethan Carter. As Ben "Yahtzee" Crowshaw from Zero Punctuation says, the engine is for "games about Fat Space Marines".

Just a tiny bit too much chromatic aberration

I'm not seeing it to be honest.

I saw that by first U3E games, e.g. UT3, GOW, Bulletstorm,. or with foliage - plastic look, same with wet surfaces/reflections. U4E is a lot better here, but it still doesnt look anyway near Infiltrator or Samaritan tech demo gfx. Hopefully next-gen games next year will have this kind of visual fidelity.

Very well done recreation. I think it comes down to assets and your set of skills with the engine to get it look like not ue. All of the ue4 demos/videos by epic are just epic.

LOL me neither but I can barely see chromatic aberration too. Time for an eye doctor?!

I not fan of either then again I never liked the film grain effect in th Silent hill games, Hell i dont like the Film grain effect in any thing including movies, it takes away from the picture quality imo.

Anyone who thinks this looks bad is simply **** for brains. Daylight is the only playable UE4 example available. It's too basic, but I think the environment/depth is very playable and an improvement. Dying Light comes out late Jan, and should be a highly detailed implementation.

:bang: LOL L2read buddy I wasn't making any kind of snarky comment. And if I was, it was at my own expense.

He's saying that he agrees with you that it doesn't look like a typical unreal engine game. He goes on further to say that he doesn't see the chromatic aberration and maybe he should see an eye doctor. He's making a joke at his own expense. I think it got lost in translation.

To me it looks incredible and amazing... but the last part makes me jump like 1 meter in the air from my chair.

Great job!!! I hope Silent Hills will be released on PC too, but there is very small chance for that. Or no chance...

Well they've put some promotion on the Fox Engine working well on PC, the new Metal Gear is supposed to come out on PC. So I mean there is a chance. And I think it looks great, very close the original PT. UE4 has an overall very different look then UE3. Besides with good art direction even UE3 games can break from the mold, like Dishonored, or even free2play games like Tera and Smite.
