Just signed into my pro and got the update. Dolby vision on plex seems less erratic. Used to be coin toss each time you played something if DV would enable or not. At least post update 3 for 3. If only they would have done updates a f action of this on my first two shields. The joystick with pop up screen and the 7" tablet, that would be nice. Those are be arely usable because software is so outdated.

I find my Shield 2017 (or apps running on it) frame rate management is terrible. Only one that does it decent is PLEX. All others I use (Disney+, AppleTV, Amazon Prime) are terrible, and just play all content regardless of source frame-rate, at the Shield default of 60FPS. I rented the movie Moonfall over the weekend on AppleTV and the juddering and stuttering was absolutely atrocious. I could literally see where it would jump back and play a previous frame again. i did try to use that dodgy third party app "Frame Control" but it once again failed when it keeps dumping out of whatever is playing and sending somewhere else - usually Amazon app for some reason. Moonfall was almost unwatchable on it on me. I play from Sony projector on big screen so more noticeable when judder happens. I did ask about this, and they just blame the app developers and expect them to handle frame rate using Shield API, and apparently Netflix is 100% AGAINST implementing frame rate control and actually have that as a condition to allowing their app on a hardware platform to begin with! Reason is they don't want users seeing a "blank" screen while the HDMI display changes frame rate. Unbelievable. I swear that HDMI/HDCP is the worst thing that happened to device usability in donkeys years - causes more trouble than its worth and original reason for HDCP is totally redundant these days since nobody bothers "recording" from TV any more.

Out of curiousity.... Does the Shield Pro lag like the regular ShieldTV does? Seems like every update makes the lag a little worse. It's starting to make my slow LG "SmartTV" feel more responsive....
