Kind of like "Back in my day, we only had 8MB hard drives and they filled entire rooms!"

Ah I figured because these HDDs have been available for a few months.
Well heck I date back to my first HDD which i think was on the Commodore 128, the HDD drive size was 20 MB man, 40 MB available as an option 😉
That's right kids, MB .. and not GB or TB !

My (I was only 5, so - "father's" 😀) first PC was Amiga 500, which I guess didn't even have HDD =)
It was followed by Amiga 600 an then Amiga 1200, but I am not sure if either of these had HDD... probably 20 or 40MB as Hilbert's 😉
Then in an instant I had a Pentium 100 machine with a whopping 600MB HDD)
Nice to know there are 8TB drives out there now!

be aware, that these 6TB and 8TB seagate NAS drives use SMR recording technology, same as with the seagate archive drives.

40 MB HDD as an option, that was huge back then!
The first thing i had who can be called PC was an Amstrad PC1512 had a 20 MB HDD too, i felt lucky to get it instead of a 10 MB one.
I chose the 16 amazing colors monitor option to match such powerful setup!

It's one of the things that worry me too.
Not just seagate, they're all trying to do it now. Going to stick with 4TB HDD's till SMR matures a bit.

Mainly interested because I'm planning on building a NAS that can hold 20TB, but HDD sizes need to increase for it to be worth it... money wise.
Once we hit 10TB PMR at a doable price I'm in.
