I can imagine this would be awesome in a multi-monitor setup.

Hahaha! So you're waiting for 4k with adaptive vsync at some reasonable price too?

Do these monitors reduce the "fish-eye" effect with games that use a wide FOV?

Pointless on a 16:9 monitor if you ask me. On a 21:9, sure.

27" does not need to be curved. Benefit is minimal and makes screen basically single user. as it becomes uncomfortable from different angles.

I don't necessarily need 4k but I've had a 27" 1920x1200 monitor for over 6 years now that I paid less than $500 for. Why the hell are we still stuck on 1080p? Even new cellphones have higher resolutions. I guess I'll keep this for another few years.

This curved crud is going too far. There is no need for it. It is all just marketing sludge. Screens need to be of major size before they need to be curved. Look at movie theaters. Those screens are much larger and not curved. Actual film is on the or about 8 or 16K for resolution. You really need to get into very wide aspect ratios before curved screens are necessary. Companies just need to make the 4K products stand out becuase of the lack of 4k material. That is all it is about. These curved screens can go flush themselves. Edit: heaven help us, this is only 1920 x 1080, what a waste.

I thought curved monitors are something in the past, aren't they? Ow, now they make the curve in the opposite direction Never mind :D

I have an Asus PB298Q UWide Moniter and its quite immersive, I dont understand those curved moniters and/or the difference between this one and those, esp with minimal bezel. Ive looked at a few tv's that were curved, but I didn't see what all the hubub was about...am I missing something??

Movie theater screens are slightly curved.

This is my impression too. Looking at the edges of a curved screen at a different angle than the center from a relatively short distance does not appeal to me for a screen of that size. Of course I cant know unless trying it out, so thats just my impression. I would think a curved screen like the new 34" 21:9 LGs would be fantastic, just not for 27".

You made me think this was a new thread. Why would you bring up such an ancient thread talking about an ancient monitor?
