This sounds like a REALLY interesting update to a nice monitor - I just wish there were a little more substance in that wall of text.
I have the CRG9, one generation before the G9. The backlighting on both the CRG9 and the G9 is kind of a joke (like 12-13 zones for the entire, ginormous monitor!) - which negatively effects their ability to do HDR. I'd love to see basically the same thing, only with up-to-date backlighting.

Already 2020 odyssey series are EOL. Samsung best customer support, lol!

Untrue itpro, there's a newer firmware available than the date you've stated:
https://www.samsung.com/sec/support/model/LC49G95TSSKXKR/
Also available in English, but the English download link requires a site login so linking directly is unhelpful.
Current firmware version is 1010.2, and it corrects some wake-from-sleep failures over the prior downloadable version (1008.2).
That said, I've heard from the various discussion forums that the monitor is being recalled if you phone Samsung and complain about the lingering problems with vertical lines and flickering, so I'll be waiting until this new one is out so I can get a refund at the same time as replacing it with a "working" one with the same / better specs (or seeing if I can convince the CSR to send me a "new model" replacement - if you don't ask, you certainly don't get)
For those uninitiated into the challenges with the G9, early firmware versions caused a loss of signal when trying to use the full resolution at 240Hz with 10 bit color (or anything combination of resolution and refresh rate which required DSC - Display Stream Compression)
These issues were corrected in 1008.2 firmware, but prevailing issues have remained:
Most pressingly for me:
The screen flickers and dims, and displays vertical lines across the entire display (full height and width) when displaying certain combinations of objects on screen concurrently
1010.2 did not correct this, and it was indicated that the flaw may be related to a hardware element of the G9, thus, not a patchable issue.
(It was shared on a reddit thread that the image processing has insufficient performance / bandwidth to manage images of certain levels of complexity - I won't take the time today trying to find that post, but if true it would explain the suggestion that there's a recall.)

Well, one can hope G9 owners can return 2020 model and receive a generous refund for G9 2021. If 2021's model costs the same with 2020's, I will be extremely annoyed by Samsung, I will consider buying LG monitor next round.
