I've had 3 Samsung Android phones (still using a Galaxy Nexus) and currently have a 52" Samsung Plasma HDTV. Let me tell you, I've had some seriously bad luck with their screens and their warranty is horrible. More than one manager I spoke to told me they literally have no policy regarding mobile phone screens and their dead pixel policy for TVs is a minimum of 7.

What will buyers of 4k res watch? There are no content sources of that sort of res yet, and bandwidth for broadcast or satellite probably wont be able to handle it even it was available. Maybe in several more years it may be viable, doubt its of much use today.

35mm film, the most common medium to shoot a movie on, is capable of 4k resolution. Once the demand is there in the form of TVs it is relatively trivial to scan a 4k shot from the film, and then on to a bluray. http://digitalcontentproducer.com/mag/video_digital_cinemas_special/index.html

Realistically that was the same when people went from VHS to DVD to Blu-Ray. So that is was for SD to HD Ready to Full HD ... There's few Ultra HD movies right now, but they are available.

3840 x 2160 would be epic to game one, if any connection actually supports that kind of resolution. Probably need quad titan SLI just for 60 FPS.

Nice screens, but is it really that much to ask to get a pc monitor 30/32 inch with 4K under 500$ ? Cmon samsung, my 5 inch mobile has full HD so where is the problem? Also, asian babes look so much better next to hardware... [not being racist am caucasian myself...just sayin 🙂 ]

Bloody hell! I'd have to sit outside at the bottom of my driveway, if I wanted to game on a screen that size!
